Yeah let’s just move on. Talk about Rumpel next season. Hopefully they will explain some of his motivation a bit more.
Me too. π I’m still curious to know why he even created the curse, and how does the true love potion factor into it. It clearly has something to do with Emma, but I’m not exactly sure how it will factor into breaing the curse.

I think he’ll manage to temporarily defeat Regina in the finale by revealing some sort of information about the curse or managaing to get Emma and Mary Margaret on his side. But even scarier? I could actually see him as the next mayor. π― But I hope that’s not the case. I like having Mr. Gold be the ominous figure who lurks in the background while secretly manipulating everyone behind the scenes. It makes accomplishing his goals (whatever those are) much easier. π

WHOA. Now that will be a must-see episode. π―
However, I have a sneaking suspicion that Mr. Gold will manage to turn the therapy session againt. Archie. Archie is, bless his heart, a bit of a simpleton. π I don’t see him being able to trick or manipulate Mr. Gold into revealing NOTHIN’!

Yeah, that will be a sight to see. π
April 8, 2012 at 10:51 pm #141438midnight drearyParticipantPoor Archie. π I have a feeling that therapy session is going to backfire on him.
Wait, why is Mr. Gold seeking therapy? Is it part of his anger management courses the judge made him take? π

I would argue that Zoso hand-picked Rumpel to take over the Dark Curse when he was ready to give it up. Remember, Zoso posed as an old beggar on the road, and Rumple gave him some money and later food. To my eyes, those are demonstrations of a good and generous person (I mean, Rumpel). Zoso could have handed it off to any number of people who had enslaved himβI’m sure they would have loved that power for themselves, but he didn’t. Zoso picked someone who was reasonably good to begin with, who he thought could handle it, who could bring some balance to the Dark Curse β¦ Even when he was talking it over with Bae, Rumpel said something like : βBae, can you imagine me with that power? I could use it for good! I could save all the kids from the Ogre War, not just you, Bae. I could finally redeem myself.β His intentions were good, even if he didn’t quite know what he was getting into. Over the centuries, he’s made the best of a bad situation β¦ It could have been a lot worse. We could have Cora or Regina as The Dark One. Would you want to live in that world?
I just love those promo picks of The Return : The newly minted Dark One at home with his son, having a nice intimate dinner together. Againβmaking the best of a bad situation. And trying to be normal again.

So well said. I had actually forgotten about Rumpel, being a poor man himself, giving the Dark One money. He even brought him into his home and fed him. And I also remember his little mini speech about all the good he could do if he had the power of the Dark One. He had pure intentions. He wanted to save the rest of his village’s children from being taken away and slaughtered. That was his original reason for wanting to control the Dark One.
I also can’t wait to see Rumpel and Bae in the next episode. They looked so close and intimate in those episode stills. It makes me sad to think that maybe something bad happened to little Bae. π₯ π₯ π₯

He planned on using the magic for good, I wonder what tainted that plan? Probably what ever made him loose his son also made him loose his humanity. The dark curse made him start to turn to a darker side right away. Remember what he did to those soldiers right in front of his little boy? They kinda did deserve it, forcing those childeren into war, but I hated watching him sink to their level….. KISS MY BOOT π

Yeah, but if it wasn’t for that scene, we would have never gotten our signature line: KISS MY BOOT! π π π
Whatever happened to Baelfire is probably what caused Rumpel to take the final step into the dark side. And I think fairies had something to do with it. I don’t trust those fairies. π I thought they were like the guardian angels of Fairytale land, but they can be pretty stubborn and ruthless sometimes. I hated that the Blue Fairy forced Grumpy to give up Nova. π₯
Isn’t the Blue Fairy supposed to be in the next episode? I think the fairies kidnapped Bae and took him to Neverland to keep him safe from Rumpel. I really think the Peter Pan theory will come to fruition.
