I’m curious to find out if August is now working for Mr. Gold exclusively. Is he his new Syndey? (In the non-romantic sense of course š )

Good point. August’s goal is quite clear. He needs Emma’s magic to heal him. But Mr. Gold…not so much. I can only speculate that he wants the curse to broken so he can leave Storybrooke look for his son.

Yes, I think Mr. Gold wants to break the curse only so that he can finally be freed from Storybrooke and look for his son. However, I think there may be a secondary reason for him wanting the curse broken too. I’m just not exactly sure what though.

Magic was what got him into this whole mess. Magic helped his life and yet destroyed it ay the same time. It got him power which he so desired but drove his son Bae away. In the end all said and done did he want magic or his son more? Which does he regret the most? Yes, he wants no magic….if he can have power without magic as he does now than he can live with it.

He created the curse to take him to a land without magic for a reason. He wants to finally be rid of his dark powers so that he can be reunited with his son. I think he’s done with magic…for now.

but he still wants power/money, which has the same effect as magic. He doesn’t want to be weak again. I see nothing has ever changed for Mr. Gold, either in SB or FTL..
May 1, 2012 at 11:44 am #145037khaleesiParticipantThough I love Rumple/Belle couple very much, I am just not too optimistic about their happy ending. I worried that either Belle or Rumple will be killed off. Killing Belle makes Rumple a more tragical character. Rumple might also be dead by the end of the series for salvation and redemption probably (to blow our mind).
Anyone can give me some hope?May 1, 2012 at 12:39 pm #145047PriceofMagicParticipantWhen Rumpel and Belle see each other again, they’re probably not going to rush straight into each others arms. They’ve got a lot of issues to work through.
Rumpel’s already lost Baelfire and might never see him again, so I’m hoping they’re not going to kill off Belle. Belle still being around is Rumpel’s second chance and I have a feeling that Rumpel’s overall story arc is going to be one of redemption and possibly sacrifice. Belle and Baelfire are important to Rumpel, they are the only ones who can redeem him and they are the only ones I can see Rumpel sacrificing himself for. Baelfire could already be dead which would nail down the tragic aspect of Rumpel but if they killed Belle off as well then what reason would Rumpel have to change his evil ways?
I don’t reckon they will kill off Rumpel because he is one of the series’ strongest and most popular characters but if they did, I wouldn’t expect it to be until several seasons down the line.
All magic comes with a price!

I don’t think Bae is dead but I am with you on other points you made. I don’t think they will rush into their happy ending in season II either. Keep in mind who is writing the stories. They are gonna torture us for sure. But I do believe Belle will play a major role in Rumple’s turn.
I also agree Mr. Gold won’t be dead or the show will be so over. But still can’t tell if he could have a happy ending at the end. So have to keep our fingers crossed.
