I don’t think Bae is dead but I am with you on other points you made. I don’t think they will rush into their happy ending in season II either. Keep in mind who is writing the stories. They are gonna torture us for sure. But I do believe Belle will play a major role in Rumple’s turn.
I also agree Mr. Gold won’t be dead or the show will be so over. But still can’t tell if he could have a happy ending at the end. So have to keep our fingers crossed.
I try to always keep in mind that what’s going to happen doesn’t really depend on logic or what I expect it to be, but on what the writers will decide! And, from what they usually do, I see a lot of “turn-arounds” and “oh-come-on-don’t-do-that-to-me” coming!
As for why he’s helping Emma to believe, I still haven’t decide if it is because of Bae or his powers. I was willing to bet on the power, but, maybe, he is really changed.

I would say it’s for Bae. When the curse is broken, he will be a freeman and can leave SB to find Bae.

It’s obviously for Bae. I don’t think he wants his powers back. He created the curse to take him to a world without magic. He even gave his dagger to August to prove to him that he was done with magic. So, gaining his powers back is nowhere in his plan.

But we also found out that Emma has to die in order for the curse to be broken and for Mr. Gold to leave Storybrooke. So, does Mr. Gold want Emma to die? Or do I have this backwards?
May 7, 2012 at 1:15 am #145721theoniongirlParticipantI think Emma believing still might break the curse. It’s just that her dying would have the same effect … so Regina can’t kill her.

Emma dying will only benefit Regina. I think she needs to believe and break the curse and then die. In that order. Why would Gold needs her to believe and die. There is something that Gold is not saying. Evrything about this curse is going to benefit Gold whether she dies or not. He is way too smart to not have a contingency plan.
May 7, 2012 at 1:26 am #145725JosephineParticipantI got that if Emma died the curse would automatically be broken, not that she hadto be killed. I took it as the curse can still be broken if she lived, but if she did by chance get killed then it’s null and void, sort of like a contract. I don’t think I explained that well, but the gist is that she doesn’t have to die for the curse to break. It’s already starting to weaken and the queen is scared that she can break it. That’s why she didn’t want to kill her, just put her into a coma-like existance.
Ohh, Regina’s “So there” did put his hackles up. He looked like he wanted to @#$%^-slap her there when she rubbed his face in it. Just wait until next week when Belle makes an appearance. I sooooo hope there is interaction between her and Gold, and then Regina and Gold afterward. If Regina has a bit of magic left because of the objects she brought with her, then Gold has a whole storehouse full of magic.

May 7, 2012 at 2:10 am #145730midnight drearyParticipantI’m still not sure what Mr. Gold’s stance on the curse is, but whatever it is, it’ll probably benifit him in some way.
Someone brought this up in another thread. But does anyone else think that Regina is becoming too dependent on Mr. Gold. She relies on him for an aweful lot. The curse, taking care of Emma, Kathryn, her apple tree…she needs to break away from him as soon as possible. Mr. Gold has his own agenda and Regina will probably suffer from it.
May 7, 2012 at 2:22 am #145731charmingParticipantTrue it is unclear. It could also be that Gold is purposely misinforming Regina or she is not taking what he is saying verbatim. The wording as we have seen in his deals or whatever he says is very important. Regina wanted something bad to happen to Kathryn but she never said to Gold that she wanted her to die, that’s why she is alive to tell her story if anyone is willing to hear it. Which begs the question why isn’t anyone asking her anymore questions? But when there was litlle evidence to go on they did a full investigation on Mary Margaret.
