This is going to come back and bite Rumple on the rumpus
Haha, I see what you did there 😉 I hope Belle doesn’t pay the price….

Two other questions to theorize about….Will Rumple seek revenge against Regina for imprisoning Belle and how? Will Rumple’s relationship with Belle last throughout the “final battle”?
Rumple usually has others doing the dirty work for him or to have them go on the road of self destruction. Everyone is going to already turn on her after remembering and there is still a matter of the deal struck for Ashley’s baby Alexandra. So the way I see it season 2’s scoreboard already is Rumple 2 and Regina 0. Besides Regina has already made a new enemy Jefferson and after the events of the last 15 minutes I am wondering Jeff’s relationship to Rumple.
The realtionships of Rumple will come down to a choice and I believe will be down to three has to pick: Power, Bae or Belle. The only way I can see him leave with 2 of 3 is if he gives up power but I do not see that happening anytime soon. Once a person gets power it is hard to give it up.

I would agree that power is normally very hard to give up. And we’ve already seen Rumple refuse to give it up twice: once for Bae and once for Belle. But, today I was rewatching “The Return” and when Rumple thinks August is Bae, he gives August the knife and tells him to destroy it and that he chose his power once over Bae and he won’t make that mistake again. I think he’s ready to give up his power. Just as soon as he finds Bae. And now that he knows Belle is alive and has her, it’s not a matter of killing Rumple or controlling him with the dagger, Belle’s true love will cure him.

Those type of people there is always the next time I’ll do it or one mission or one more hit and I’ll quit. They want their cake and eat it too and then some. If he actually meets Bae right nbow I’m not sure if he’d believe it. He was fooled once and he’s not the type that’s easily fooled many times.

I think his overall end game is to find Bae and then get everyone back to FTL. And as far as not believing Bae if he did find him…maybe he’ll work some magic (since apparently magic came to SB) like he did for Charming to find SW with the ring? I think that Rumple feels he NEEDS the magic to find Bae and take everyone home (although I get the sinking feeling that the latter somehow involves killing Emma).

It doesn’t mean that’s a bad thing. His statement that “magic is power” is true. We’ve seen that with Regina and with the Blue Fairy, who is supposed to the oldest power and the “good” power. The question is what does he plan to do with that power. Does he use it to find Bae (since that was the whole reason for the Dark Curse) or does he use like Regina did and attempt to control those without power/less power than he.

It doesn’t make sense. Everything Rumpel has done has led to him creating the curse to find Baelfire. So, I’m still holding the stance that Mr. Gold brought magic to Storybrooke for Baelfire.
However, revenge may also be one of his reasons as well. I don’t see Mr. God letting Regina off the hook for what Regina did.

Rumple’s desire for power/ magic cost him Bae and Belle. He’d rather keep power than to forsake it and be with them. So was it a bad thing? Is it not going to be a roadblock in his new relationship with Belle. After she questioned him about why he wanted magic back and he said power, Belle did give a strange look.

I’m curious to learn how the other fairytale creatures deal with power and magic. So far, we’ve only seen Regina and Rumpel’s view of magic. We’ve been led to believe that power and magic lead to evil deeds. But there are other fairytale creatures that possess magic and power who are actually good. So, I’d like to hear what they’d have to say about magic and the price they had to pay, if any at all.
