I think the kisses do not work because Mr Gold is not fully committed to Belle…. similar to Snow in revenge mode having forgotten Charming. Since Gold keeps things close to his vest he is not stupid enough to say this to Belle. I do not think he will fully commit until he has Bae back in his life….. Gold is a long term planner / strategist.

.I disagree, I think Rumple does truly love Belle. Magic works differently at the moment which is why true love’s kiss does not have the same effect as it did in fairytale land. The reason Charming’s kiss did not initially work on Snow in her revenge mode is because she had forgotten him and therefore felt no love towards him.
All of Rumple’s actions in Broken were a result of his love for Belle. She made him promise that he wouldn’t kill Regina and he did his best to stick to that, by twisting it and getting the wraith to kill Regina instead, all so he wouldn’t break his promise to Belle. Some of his actions will also be governed in trying to find Bae. For example, if doing something will upset Belle but help him find Bae, Rumple will do it and then try and make it up to Belle. If it had no purpose in finding Bae, Rumple wouldn’t risk upsetting Belle deliberately.

Good points I will consider it… maybe both is working here at different levels. Gold will continue to work at getting Bae back… but he really should explain to Belle what his goals are and he has not yet done so….. I also wonder why Gold would take a chance that LOVING and being committed to Belle in the fullest sense would cause him to lose his magic. Maybe it is the object that have magic and he knew that …. that is why he is not worried. I still think Gold is addicted to power / magic and plans to maintain it in the future… planning to have his “cake/ Belle” and ” eat / HAVE HER” too.
I am looking forward to seeing how EVERYTHING evolves.

I think that will be the climax of episode 4. She leaves in the beginning of the episode, but on her way, she's kidnapped by Smee. When Charming, Rumpel and Red finally rescue her, she's still angry at Rumpel and demands an explanation. And that's when he tells her about the curse and what happened to Baelfire.

I agree. Episode 4 is rumored to be a big episode for Rumpel. Jane Espenson tweeted that itโs her favorite episode so far, and so did Jennifer Morrison. Which is odd considering sheโs not even in that episode. ๐

Possibly! I know the Rumpel fangirls tend to go gaga for his character centric episodes (including myself ๐ ).

Aww, that would be lovely. I really enjoyed Skin Deep last season, so it would be nice if the writers could create another episode to match it.
October 15, 2012 at 7:25 pm #156801RumplesGirlKeymasterSkin Deep is still my very favorite episode. I think this episode is going to be spectacular. Even if I am a really biased Rumple fan. ๐
