Question! Who do you guys think is more powerful? Rumpel or Cora? Rumpel did teach Cora everything she knows, but I can’t help but worry. In “Into the Deep,” Mr. Gold seemed a little too confident in his abilities and Regina questioned his powers as well. Cora seems pretty confident in her abaility to take over Storybrooke, however, as we learned in “Queen of Hearts,” Regina thinks that Rumpel won’t have his powers once they reach Storybrooke. So, it’s only reasonable to assume that Cora thinks the same thing. Cora is probably expecting a powerless Rumpel when she arrives in Storybrooke. So, Rumpel has the element of surpise on his side.

I think Rumpel is more powerful, but Cora has knowledge about how to destroy him. I’m almost certain that she knows about the dagger, so whether or not she’s more powerful than him is irrelavent. She doesn’t need magic to defeat him, she just needs the dagger.

Good point. The dagger is where his power is. So, Cora and Hook will undoubtedly go after that first.

And that’s my main concern. Rumpel, you need to choose your pupils a little bit more wisely.

Actually…I think I’m going to have to go with Cora. I don’t necessarily think that she’s more powerful than Rumpel, but I do believe that she has knowledge of how to defeat him. The dagger. So as long as she has that knowledge, she’ll always have leverage over Rumpel.

I’m not sure the dagger ever CAN be destroyed…..
Has it ever been hinted that it could ?

The dagger is what makes someone The Dark one. And there must be a dark one, atleast I believe there must. But maybe he can get rid of the curse in some other way than dying, perhabs somehow pass it on too somebody else, or what would be cool, would be if the dagger could be sealed in stone for later, in a way like the sword in the stone from the Arthurian myths.

I’m not sure. I think destroying the dagger will actually kill the Rumpel. The dagger is what holds the Dark One’s power, so destroying it may prove to be fatal to him.

True love kiss. As we saw in “Skin Deep,” true love’s kiss has the power to reverse the Dark One’s curse.

Yeah but naah !! If the curse of The Dark One is as strong as I believe it is, then true loves kiss would not be stronger then that, it might be JUST as strong and therebye hinter the curse or keep it contained for a while, or perhabs the kiss would be able to ‘banish’ the curse back into the dagger.. but hmm I’m not sure if the curse just wouldn’t be expressed in some other and possibly horrible way.
But this is just me speculating on the nature of curses and magic and really have no foundation in what we have seen on the show so far. Could be that Kisses and Horrorwitch ( šŸ˜Ž sorry for name misspell. can’t help myself) interprets it in a nother way.

No, she’s right. True love’s kiss does have the power to break the Dark One’s curse. It was powerful enough to lo lift the curse over Storybrooke, and as we saw in “Skin Deep,” it was powerful enough to break Rumpel’s curse and turn him back into a human. Now, whether or not the writers go in that direction with the story is another story. But since he’s part of the Beauty and the Beast fairytale, I think it’ll factor into his character arc eventually.
