Yes, and Ruby was always human, but her genes also make her a wolf which is how she can still turn. Being a wolf was always part of being human for her.

So Adam just tweeted “a reminder” when asked why Rumple doesn’t cure his limp with magic. Might not explain why the curse gave the limp back to him…but it does give us some insight into him since Emma returned!

So how do you take that, it being a “reminder”? My feeling is that Rumple wants to hang on to that part of him who really is human. After Emma came back, he didn’t have Belle and hadn’t found Bae, yet, but living as “Mr. Gold” has shown him that he still has a bit of his real self hidden deep down inside.

If he would, by chance, get turned back into Rumple’s façade in Neverland, I have a feeling we’re still not going to see the classic “Dark One Rumple”. He may look like him, but I don’t think he’ll be as flamboyant. Like the others affected by the curse, he has a combination of things in him. He’s peasant Rumple, Dark One, Mr. Gold, and now post-curse Grandpa. He’s an amalgamation now. We might see some of his mannerisms return, but I don’t think he’ll be the all-out, full-tilt Dark One Rumplestiltskin. His experiences, imo, with Belle, Neal and Henry have really changed him.

I think it is a reminder of what he gave up to be with Bae–of how important it is to be with Bae.

Yes, I believe so. The limp is his reminder that he gave up his reputation and became the town coward for his son. It also lead to him losing Milah and becoming the Dark one.

This is a guy who is extremely possessive, who collects objects and values them highly (if as nothing else, tools for getting what he wants). I think if someone had pilfered the cup or intentionally damaged it–even before it had any significance to him–he wouldn’t have been so dismissive. But because she’s distressed about it, he dismisses it.

this is interesting. I agree about how Rumple tried to convince her that he was evil it was so funny.
but later ,in a more serious tone, belle tells him “no matter how thick you make your skin”

Hey I just thought of something…
what if this skin thing he’s got is a curse he put on himself to find out how bad he is? like every time he lets the dagger take control of him and does something evil his skin gets worse. kind of like every time pinocchio lied his nose grew.
the reason I am convinced that he put it on himself is because the other dark one had no skin problem

I think of Rumpel’s skin like a mood ring.

When he’s happy, his skin gets brighter and it sparkles 😆 (Skin Deep). For that, I think depending on his mood, it can be bright and sparkly or dark and dull.

I’ve stopped wondering why his skin changed while Zoso’s appeared to be the same and he could hide his appearance from, while Rumpel’s always reptillian.

whats up with Rumpel’s love life? Mila Cora and Belle are such completely different people. If Rumpel was Regina he would have taken Cora’s box and controlled her like Regina did the huntsman. why didn’t he? does it prove that he really did love her? and if he truly loved her why didn’t he change when he kissed her? but he needed her daughter for the curse so why didn’t he control her heart for that purpose? I don’t think he’s a very bad person.
the curse required a heart from “the thing you love most” is that why he ttook Mila’s heart and when he realized that she was not the thing he loved most he crushed it?
Is Lacy mery much like Cora and Milla (in drinking at bars and liking magic)
