This has been heavily requested by fans for quite some time, and it makes sense! You really can’t continue Once without Neal sticking around.

Glad to see it’s official so people can calm down about it now that we know Neal is definitely alive!
So that’s everyone right? Emma, Snow, Charming, Regina, Rumple, Belle, Hook, and now Neal? (I’m assuming Henry as well but I don’t remember if we saw his name anywhere or not and couldn’t find what I was looking at the other day for the list, grr). Sounds like all the core people that are well-loved (and don’t have new shows of their own…) are all back for S3! Can’t wait to see how this massively dysfunctional family gets along.
Glad we should be seeing more of NealFire since his storyline with Rumple and Henry are far far far from over and we need more answers & they definitely could not have left things the way they did this season so obviously he had to be back. This means we should hypothetically see him in most of the episodes for season 3 (I say hypothetically because of the Belle / Ruby stuff last season..) but it means we should at least see him once in awhile in FTL trying to get back, even though the main focus for the first half of the season will probably still be on everyone on the ship with the rescue Henry + get back to SB mission. And then of course we should see him more when they’re all back in SB as well which I’m guessing will be 2nd half of the season.
Regardless of who people ship him with, he is still an important character in his relationships with everyone else so glad he’s back.

So all the core characters are back, that’s awesome! It doesn’t make sense not to have Neal included because there are so many loose ends but I understand them having to hold off saying it until after the finale. Although they may have just assumed flashbacks but to have somebody be a regular in just flashbacks would be HUGE because of the number of eps they’d have to be in so I guess it makes sense to wait until now.
I just want a happy RumBelle family with NealFire back and close to everybody and in Henry’s life. Family is what this show is about and he needs to be back with his dad and his son.

In all honesty, despite Neal’s lack of being a “Regular” in Season 2, he had a lot more overall screentime in the Season compared to Belle and especially Ruby (both who were credited as “Regulars”).

Goes back to what Myril was saying here about defining regular and core cast and main cast. I considered him main cast even though he wasn’t a regular and considered Ruby a reoccurring even though she was regular. TV is weird.
