Lol, he sure is. It’s like with EdR right before Lacey came out and we were suddenly hit with several interviews all at once.
Things I take away from all the articles thus far: I think Swanfire is endgame for sure, but I think they both need time to heal from their wounds and that will allow for CaptainSwan AND Rumple will make the right decision, I just hope Bae is around to see it.

This is exactly what I think too. I think Lacey will want him to kill Henry to save himself, but in the end Rumple won’t be able to do it and he’ll tell Lacey he can’t take the easy road of darkness and be with her. And that act of sacrifice, both for her and the “undoing” is what will cause Belle to peak out from behind Lacey. And then somehow she gets her memories back. I know it’s not TLK, but somehow..somehow.

I’ll hold out hope for Rumple, though not without trepidation. As for Lacey, I think she could get her memories back by drinking the water of Lake Nostos from her magically-repaired chipped cup. 😀

May 3, 2013 at 7:54 pm #190905MysteryKat25ParticipantI’m happy so far as Emma & Neal talking out the past and coming to terms with exactly what went down. Also excited to see what the NealFire / Rumple game changer is. So many ideas and still no clue!
I’m still adament however that a lot of time has passed, Emma & Neal are different people now, and just because they had something 10 years ago (and a kid…) doesn’t mean that they absolutely 100% HAVE to be endgame. They might be, but they don’t “have” to be. Yes it’s a fairy tale story but they have real world experiences (especially Emma) so as much as Henry might want his parents together, sometimes that’s not the case in the real world, fairy tale influence or not, so we’ll have to see.
It’s the end of season 2. Hopefully there’s a long slow burn for whoever Emma ends up with or she’ll just become boring in that department like all the others that we know have to end up together. (Also, as annoying as it is that RumBelle is often split up, RumBelle is still interesting / exciting and Snowing is *somewhat* boring. I’d rather not end up with a boring, predictable SwanFire this early in the game which is one of the reasons I love the excitement of the CaptainSwan possibility – don’t get me wrong I love Snowing, it’s just not as interesting most of the time these days (their FTL flashbacks are significantly more interesting). Emma is the one character who has no set, predetermined true love we’ve grown up knowing. I like that.)
I AM thrilled, however, that Emma & Neal will be addressing stuff. They have a lot of history that needs clearing up in order to coexist in Henry’s life which to me IS the perfect endgame, regardless of how any couplings shake out. His family tree is tangled enough but he needs them all there: his mom, dad, adopted mom, grandparents, etc etc. He has a lot of people who love him and that is the ultimate happy ending, whether at 11 he believes that or not.
Who knows, maybe the last 2 episodes of the season will change my mind since we’re getting more on NealFire but as much as I love young Bae I’m not impressed with what he became (though he is infinitely better than what I expected knowing what he went through with falling through the portal and Rumple abandoning him. I expected him to grow up into a very different person, especially with the way Emma used to talk about him – whatever happened with that married person thing she hinted at? Must have been a different relationship). Anyway, he’s better than he was and has potential so perhaps in filling more gaps I’ll see more of it too but I really think if we get SwanFire any time soon it’ll mostly be boring hohum stuff and then they better introduce somebody awesome for Hook so I can get behind that – can’t stand the idea of anybody we’ve seen on the show so far with him, at least at this point in time.

Well that is beautiful and poetic and made me squeeeee. Plus, if the well water does work, that would explain how Sneezy can get his memories back.
As to CS/SF: I’m a pretty big believer that before Swanfire can ever seriously happen (because I do think they’re end game) CS has to have it’s turn. I think Hook will help Emma open up again and be ready for a romantic relationship (sort of like Graham was) and I think Emma will help Hook see that he can love again after Milah. As for the Neal and Emma not being the same people they were 10 years ago, I think that’s a valid point. But I also think Emma searched for Neal for most of her life and that Neal waited for Emma for close to 10 years. I don’t think you hold onto something that intensely without knowing that it’s for real.

I agree I don’t want a resolution with Neal/Emma this soon. It’s the same reason I’m glad Rumbelle still have issues haha, although this amnesia thing is KILLING me and I want Belle back, it keep their story interesting and it’s going to add more depth to both characters. And I’m glad I’m not the only one who thinks present day Snowing is boring! I LOVE them in FTL, but in SB they are so dull and incompetent – David’s always getting knocked out and they’re walking around town talking about their plans when they should be more smart. That’s why I’m excited to see them go to another land hopefully this will bring back their Snow/Charming sides rather than MM/David.
At Paleyfest Adam and Eddy said that Henry’s happy ending is having his family come together so I think no matter what happens between Emma and Neal the best thing they can do is take care of their unfinished business so they can move on for Henry. Although I do hope they get back together lol…May 3, 2013 at 8:12 pm #190911SlurpeezParticipantWhile I don’t think Emma and Neal will get back together immediately (probably because Neal will get transported to EF), there’s no denying they still “carry a torch” for each other as Mr. Gold points out in the 8-minute preview of 2×21. I don’t mind if Hook and Emma have their little fling, to give the CaptainSwan fans their fill, but I’m convinced Emma and Neal are meant to be. Also, anyone who has seen this special Who is Baelfire? feature knows how hard E & A ship Baelfire with Emma. That means Swanfire is canon.

May 3, 2013 at 8:14 pm #190912MysteryKat25ParticipantI’ll agree with the not holding on for no reason thing. I just also know that she spent a couple years in Tallahasse presumably looking for him, and that he was told not once but twice (once very close to the curse being broken I might add) that August was going to let him know when he could go get Emma back and what does he do? Turns around and starts dating Tamara *smacks forehead*. Perhaps he really is like Rumple and is just good at making stupid mistakes at just the right time because he doesn’t believe he’s worthy.
That being said with as much time as she wasted being miserable because of him, that doesn’t go away overnight so hopefully she’ll at least get a good shot at being with someone else. I’d rather her not come across as pathetic just because she finally understands why he did what he did. I don’t see them falling back into each others arms anytime soon, nor do I think they need to (I really think it undermines the “we are both” thing if the real world side of people, ESPECIALLY Emma, gets overlooked to just fall into fairy tale traps but that’s an endgame problem I have at the moment, one of the main things holding me back I think).
I like what you said RG about the Hook / Graham thing (and hopefully it wont’ be a repeat of start to open up then somebody dies thing. I’d rather be mad at her for choosing NealFire over Hook and see why it was that way than just falling back into old habits cause yet another love dies, and I like the idea of them opening each other up again (even though I’d prefer they stay together…).
On the bright side, after seeing Tallahassee, I’m pretty sure her endgame is with one of the two and no matter which she ends up with all roads lead to NEVERLAND!

May 3, 2013 at 8:32 pm #190913SlurpeezParticipantEven though Neal is engaged to Tamara, she is soon out the door, because she will betray him and break his heart. His true love is Emma, and I believe she is his intended. He will always love her. The only reason he didn’t look for her was because he was afraid she would never forgive him for what he did to her. Neal confesses his regret, almost verbatim, in in the clip I provided. Also, MRJ said thisabout Neal and Emma:
“Neal is always going to have feelings for Emma, no matter what,” says Raymond-James. “Those feelings can’t be put in a jar and set aside, you’re always carrying them with you. Neal is, anyway.”
There’s also an undeniable love that Emma has for Neal. Yes, Neal deeply hurt her, and she claims to only wear the necklace he gave her as a reminder of that pain. Yet, deep down, Emma always wanted Neal to come find her after she got out of prison, and that’s why she wore that swan pendant. She spent years in Tallahassee, hoping Neal, her true love, would come find her and they could have the home they dreamt of together all those years ago. Emma would have forgiven Neal for leaving her the way he did, and she will, especially that she now realizes he did it for her to save her own parents from the curse. Neal himself was a victim of that curse, just as much as she was. They both have a lot of lost time to make up for, not only for their own sakes, but for Henry’s sake, too.
Regarding their dynamic, Eddy Kitsis said in an interview:
It’s obvious she still holds a torch for Neal; it’s obvious that he still has feelings for her,”
That means Swanfire isn’t just past-tens; they’re current and they’re the future. They’re omnipresent. It’s going to happen eventually, and it’s going to be beautiful and emotional and everything Emma and Neal every dreamt of. They complete each other like no one else does and no one else every could. Happy thoughts.
