ParticipantSo much activity in the thread, I feel like I have had a journey with multiple stops through time and space of speculation land!
I'm on board the Granny dies/Neal vanishes train. GOAT are up to no good for the people of SB–but my question is, are they up to what they think is good for the people of the “Real World”? How does Tamara feel about Neal? She may not be in love with him, but would she want to kill him? How does a woman even manage to pretend to love someone enough that he proposes, and jokes about getting a workout in bed with her? I mean think about that –especially since she apparently has a relationship with Greg too. What kind of people are just ok with sharing that level of intimacy with someone as part of a job? The first things that come to mind are not very savory–but also James Bond comes to my mind. He'd easily seduce his way to information and enjoy it all the while. He kills and is sometimes ruthless in terms of the destruction he causes in pursuit of what he thinks is the greater good. What if “something we've never seen before” in terms of GOAT's agenda is that the organization for which these guys work is actually not an evil organization as such things usually turn out to be? I'm just curious about how A&E are going to surprise us with that.

Stops. Multiple. We know NL is one, but I’m starting to believe a big part of the Bae background is visiting other lands: WL, Oz, Agrabah (we’ve heard of it but haven’t seen it and while I think it is in FTL, there is nothing to suggest that Bae didn’t pop back to a different part of the EF)
Yes, I noticed that “s” too, and wondered if it was intentional, or if it was just a casually and poorly used word. If K&H had said it, I’d believe without a doubt that it was meant to be plural. But we don’t know for sure exactly how much MRJ knows about where they’re gonna take the character in the future. Either he just gave away something big, or we’re gonna get worked up over nothing. 😆

ParticipantThere have to be at least 3 stops–NL, Victorian London and present day U.S. somehow.
If there’s stuff beyond that….well…won’t that be interesting to see!“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. ParticipantBut one has to wonder — how does Neal go from 18th century London as Bae to present-day U.S. as Neal, when he meets up with Emma?
“It wasn’t a direct line, it was a circuitous route through time and space in order to land in time to meet Emma,” says Raymond-James. “There wasn’t a direct line, there were stops.”I think the key word here is circuitous, which is the adjectival form of the noun circuit. It means being or taking a roundabout, lengthy course. So, I think Bae made a complete circuit: 19th-century London –> Neverland —-> presnet-day NYC. There may have been more stops along the way, but I believe the bean portal caused Bae to come forward into the future to A Land without Magic in the 19th century. Baelfire then went to NL, where he didn’t age for a hundred or so hears, and then he eventually returned to A Land Without Magic to NYC circa 1991. He may have come back to Earth from NL via another realm like Wonderland, but maybe it was a direct return journey.

I agree with this analysis and the basic ordering of events, but I have to wonder for a kid who hated magic, what did he do in NL for 250+ years? If he’s not Peter (leaving aside questions of being the Pan or controlling the Pan) then I’m not sure sticking around NL at all times fits. So yes, I think he made journeys (not long ones or else he would have aged) to other lands. I really hope it was Oz. Oz is at the top of my list for lands I want to see.

ParticipantMRJ gave another interview today to Yahoo TV on Neal’s Backstory and some spoilers about Episode 2×21 “Second Star To The Right” Here is the link to the original interview that MRJ gave to Yahoo TV http://tv.yahoo.com/news/-once-upon-a-time–star-michael-raymond-james-teases-neal-s-backstory–it-s-all-about-family-124321889.html
The Examiner.com posted some excerpts from it http://www.examiner.com/article/once-upon-a-time-star-michael-raymond-james-spoilers-on-neal-s-backstory
The 2-part finale to season 2 of “Once Upon A Time” begin with “Second Star to the Right” in which we will learn a great deal about Neal’s past. Michael Raymond-James, who plays Neal, recently spoke with Yahoo TV and they shared some spoilers on May 4 he gave about the final two episodes, Neal’s past and his future with Emma, Henry and his dada, Mr. Gold/Rumplestiltskin.
Baelfire, Neal as a boy in Fairy Tale Land, falls through a portal. In this episode we learn he landed in 19th century London where he was befriended by the Darling family, Wendy in particular. According to show runner Edward Kitsis in an interview with TV Guide, “What happens with him, Wendy and the Darling family is the emotional touchstone of what these last two hours are.”
Raymond-James also hints that the complicated relationship between Bae and his father, Mr. Gold/Rumplestiltskin will be dealt with. There is a lot of damage between them but the actor says his character remains hopeful that one day they will be able to have a normal father-son relationship.
As for Neal’s relationship with Henry, that is the pivotal relationship in his life. Neal has always longed for family. Since he didn’t get the father he wanted, he wants to be that father for his son. Raymond-James says he believes Neal follow Henry to Fairy Tale Land to be with him if he had to.
When asked about the Emma/Neal/Tamara triangle, things grow a bit murkier. Neal has already been damaged by his father’s betrayal. He can’t accept that someone else he cares about could do that to him again in spite of Emma’s warnings. Still, there are unresolved issues between him and Emma. They are parents together and they will have a chance to air some of those issues over the course of the 2-part finale. They still have deep feelings for one another that will come bubbling to the surface according to Raymond-James
Tune in Sunday, May 5 for “Second Star to the Right” when “Once Upon A Time” continues and check back often for more spoilers.
