I would probably give it a go especially if they brought in a new cast and rebooted. I would not watch it if it had Emma or Hook in it, but yeah I like Regina well enough and feel she has more story to tell. Looking back, the reason I loved season 1 and I really liked part of season 6A was because of the storytelling. I thought season 6 had a lot of potential with the land of untold stories and how those stories interacted (this is the key) with our characters. I think they bailed on the idea within a few episodes and went back to plot plot plot. If they could recapture this with new characters, I might give it a go at least for a few episodes.

Their bickering is a low point for the show right now and that would be the problem, in my opinion. They can’t keep just those two villains and expect the show to work. I, also, don’t want Hook on the show. They would have to introduce an entirely new protagonist and i think they have to be female. I am not sure how that would work and i don’t think the writers get any of that.
I don’t get how they are going to finish off Regina’s arc or even what it is anymore. The problem being that Regina has been finished off for a couple of seasons now. Really, the entire show has been finished off and that is why it doesn’t really work because it doesn’t have a plot. The plot went with Neal and so it has just been sort of existing now.

One, she’s the best written character on the show. Two, her happy ending isn’t going to come this season (if happy ending means finding the one you love and going off into the sunset). It would be a shame if she never found love again after Robin.

This is actually the one character that I don’t feel has dragged on and or felt that their arc was done a couple seasons ago. I still think Regina’s character has a lot more to tell. At this point, she may be the most human and most realistic character on the show. If Emma takes a bow and goes off with Hook, or if she dies, it opens the door up for Regina to be the hero of the story and bring her arc full circle. Yeah. she’s been a “hero for a while now, but she hasn’t really done anything since taking down Zelena in 3b. She’s just been dealing with her inner demons and what not. Let her be the hero and finish her story for season 7. Most everyone loves Regina. That’s the only way people would watch a season 7 I feel. No one who loves Regina is going to feel like her story got wrapped up nicely if she’s done after this season….especially after alternative reality Robin doesn’t work out. She will be in a tough place once again coming down the stretch here. There’s not enough time to give her a happy ending.

Those two fandoms are the CS fandom and the ER fandom. And since ER and CS shippers are always at war with each other if you focus on one you lose the other. Wrapping up CS and giving them a happy ending sends the CS fandom away and then they can just have the ER fandom for one more season.
I know people don’t want to admit anything but Regina is very much a divisive character in the fandom especially after all the focus she’s had this season. Which has not been well written whatsoever. She’s as much loved as she is hated, especially going by Adam’s mentions and things on Twitter. Her and Hook are this way and have been for a while now.

I actually completely disagree. I think Regina is one of the most non divisive characters. I am a huge Rumple fan and yet I also like Regina. I am not a ER fan and I just think Regina’s story has not been told and she most certainly is no where close to getting her happy ending. I think her story has more to do with family (Henry, Snow, and even co parenting with Emma) instead of a love interest which makes her much more relatable and likable.
February 27, 2017 at 2:49 pm #333623thedarkonedearieParticipantWhat on earth is ER? CS fans would probably stop watching if CS got wrapped up. So that makes sense. But from my standpoint, I would still watch the show if Regina became the main character.

And this is just something I don’t see as much. Maybe I’m not on the right forums but I don’t think she’s as divisive as you are saying. People usually either love her for her EQ days and being a sassy boss or love her for turning over a new leaf and being a hero. Many, like myself, love both of these things. I’m sure some people hate her….but she’s not on the same level as Hook or Rumple for instance. I will also disagree on the writing so far this season. I’ve enjoyed most of it. It’s way better than anything they’ve done since season 3a. At least I’ve enjoyed it and I’m looking forward to all these plot points they dangled in the first half to come to fruition.
I think her story has more to do with family (Henry, Snow, and even co parenting with Emma) instead of a love interest which makes her much more relatable and likable.
If they kept it this way, that would be best. She doesn’t need a love interest. I completely agree that her love has always been for Henry and Robin, and without Robin, it’s all about Henry and her family. Many of her relationships with people have become the most evolved too. Like her and Snow. Or her and Emma. Or her and Henry for that matter. And these family relationships are important for the show. I don’t care if some select people hate her. It’s hard to argue that she hasn’t been the most relatable and influential person on the show and her character alone, because of how far she has come and the relationships she has mended (but still having a constant struggle) is why she is the only character that could handle a spin off. And her story should be far from over.

ER means Evil regals, Regina fans, the way rumple fans are called dearies, hook fans are called hookers, robin fans are called hoodies, Neal fans are called firethieves, etc.

LOL! No, ER stands for “Evil Regal”! XD As for the Evil Rumple, it’s actually called GoldenQueen, and you’d be surprised by the followers it had on twitter! I personally could not stand the ship, it was just too weird after all the father/daughter like scenes Regina & Rumple had over the seasons.
I know people don’t want to admit anything but Regina is very much a divisive character in the fandom especially after all the focus she’s had this season. Which has not been well written whatsoever. That’s not quite true…yes CS & Evil Regals are forever at one another’s throats, but fandom wise as a whole, she definetly stands on a higher ground in the fandom than Hook. The rest of the fandom, from Rumbelle, SwanFire, SwanQueen, MyPretties, Casual Viewers, and surprisingly even Snowing are fine with Regina, it’s only CS Fandom’s constant complaint of “her sassy remarks & attitude towards Hook/Emma” that the CS have an issue with Regina for, and therefore anyone who has the slightest negative thing to say about their ship, they would have an issue with.

Here’s the thing, although Regina is a fan favorite, I don’t think she’s capable of carrying an entire show on her own. I would love to watch one, but I just don’t think it’s possible. The entire series surrounded a core cast, not even Emma is carrying the show on her own. And if Lana sees all her cast mates/friends leaving to do other things, I’m sure she wants to go out and do other things as well. But if Adam & Eddy sat Lana down and gave her the overall synopsis for the final season, she and more than likely Bex may do it, if it’s quality work.
As for what the Season 7 would be, based on the casting call, it’d have an adult lead who we all think is Henry. And if Henry’s lost his way, I think Regina’s happy ending would ultimately end up being, making sure that her son gets his.

February 27, 2017 at 4:45 pm #333628MatthewPaulModeratorSo here’s the big question.
Let’s say we lose 90% of the cast–just Lana and Bex stick around. Would you still watch? Would you just check out the premiere of 7 and then go from there? Or would you say that S6B was the end and move on?
I would honestly watch. I’ve come this far, so I feel it would be far too late to just drop it now. Especially when I couldn’t see this lasting past Season 7. I’m also curious what this reboot would entail. If we were to get an adult Henry, that could be very interesting. There’s also one advantage: if we’re losing a large chunk of the cast, then that would potentially free up time to explore dropped storylines of miscellaneous characters like Lily and her father, Will and Anastasia, etc. One of the biggest flaws of the current show is that the storylines of the main characters are being dragged out (looking at you, Rumple), so that could definitely freshen things up. That being said, I’d rather see the show end with the main storyline wrapped up.
