I couldn’t quite understand the name of Regina’s horse so I put on closed captioning.

Regina’s horse is named Rocinante which is the name of Don Quixote’s horse in the famous novel of the same name. I haven’t had much time to ponder it and wondered if anyone else has a theory.

Interesting. I wonder if we’ll see Don Quixote on OUAT. That’ll be fun 😀

Well, we did see a windmill last year! (The one in Mr. Gold’s shop, which had supposedly been in David and Kathryn’s yard.)

Cora is a miller’s daughter, and Regina’s last name in SB is Mills. So, maybe Cora’s dad had a windmill.

wait.. we have windmills and we have giants (Jorge Garcia)
how exciting would it be if Don Quixote was in SB? who the heck would be Sancho Panza?

But I think it’s more of a wink from the writers of the show. Don Quixote rides Rocinante, and what does Don Quixote do? he fights imaginary enemies. Well so does Regina. Emma (except at the end) never was trying to arm, steal or take Henry from Regina. The Evil Queen created an enemy where there was none to begin with.

    Regina was “tilting at windmills”.

    Regina was “tilting at windmills”.

    Brilliant symbolism.

    I agree too. That’s a great interpretation.
