Well, this really isn’t that surprising, especially considering they’re still adding people to the cast list. My guess is, maybe Fall or Spring schedule.
October 1, 2015 at 8:12 pm #308917Ranisha PittsParticipantWho is watching heroes?
"I will be kind but I will speak my mind."
October 1, 2015 at 8:32 pm #308918RumplesGirlKeymasterI am. I don’t have many thoughts but I’ll put a few here.
1) Nice to see HRG
2) Robbie Kay is doing really good work.
3) The video game portion is odd but somehow fascinating. Really want more of that.
4) It’s all…rather…disconnected right now. Like I can’t see the stories lining up yet. S1 of Heroes was largely an origin story but everything came together in the end because “save the cheerleader, save the world.”
5) The problem, overall, is this: back when Heroes came out in S1 there was really nothing like it on TV. No one else was doing the sort of comic-book, superhero type shows. That’s why Heroes was so great: it was fresh and innovative along with superb writing and acting. The writing quickly fell apart by S3 and then S4. After it was off the air for a few years, more superheros shows popped up, like Arrow, Flash Agent Carter, Gotham, and Agents of SHIELD.
In other words, there’s a step learning curve for Heroes. Not only do they need to redeem themselves for S3 and S4 they need to at least match the best of the superhero shows out now, like the aforementioned ones. Right now? It’s not doing that. It’s fine; it’s not life altering TV (but it’s only one episode so far) but nothing really captured me outside of nostalgia.

By the way, Penny Guy’s name is Caspar Abraham. According to my research, “Caspar” means “master of the treasure.” And, obviously, Abraham Lincoln is on the penny. His name is literally “Keeper of the Pennies!”
Oh, and I think the butterfly is Sylar. I could hear the ticking on June 13, 2014.
October 2, 2015 at 4:10 am #308966GaultheriaParticipantI tuned in for the first episode, but I won’t be watching the rest. I enjoyed the original series, even parts of its later seasons, but this one doesn’t compel me to watch, and I’ve lost the inertia that kept me watching the original through its bad parts.

October 2, 2015 at 11:24 am #308987Sci-Fi GirlParticipantI’m watching! 😀
I saw the first episode, but I haven’t seen the second one yet.
I have been discussing it at my sci-fi forum, and among other things I came up with an interesting theory on game girl. Here is what I posted there:
I didn’t have a problem with the video game thing. In fact I thought it was interesting, and kinda cool!
She can’t enter any game, just this particular one. And it seems to overlap with the real world, almost like another dimension. Places and even people in the game world have real world counterparts, and vice versa! Maybe it really is another dimension, and the game on the computer is just a representation of it, a way for people to see it and partially interact with it.
But she really travels there, and if she is injured in that world she is injured in this one as well.
And her father is known to be the one who published the “game” in this world. What if that dimension has always existed, and her father adapted technology for people to interact with it through a game? Some families pass down the same power to each new generation. What if her family has been going to this dimension for many generations? And the sword may be traditional to her family. And her father left her instructions in the book, before he got captured(?) and trapped in the game.
And the gamer guy found her address encoded in the game world. If her father is in there, maybe he recently put that information there, so that someone worthy would find the clue and lead her to discover the truth, so she could go find him! It’s his way of calling for help, since he is trapped there.
SFG
^ Although, the details of her life in the real world seem a bit fuzzy. What school does she go to? She … doesn’t know?!? And she can clearly fight in the real world too, did she take martial arts training? It looked like she just doesn’t leave her apartment.
So she is not quite fully in this world either, like she is stuck in between! I wonder, could she have been born in the other dimension?
I’m probably just talking crazy now, LOL! 😆
SFG
And then my friend suggested that previous generations of her family might have accessed the world through other types of games, like card games or board games!
Anyway, I’m having fun with this theory. 🙂
If you want to read the rest of my thoughts on the pilot, here is the thread at my other forum. 🙂

October 4, 2015 at 10:36 am #309097Jiminy’s JournalParticipantI just thought of another theory: Luke exploded in Odessa on June 13. It just seems a bit coincidental that he’s suddenly developing Ted Sprague powers.
October 5, 2015 at 6:45 pm #309283Sci-Fi GirlParticipantEpisode 3 (week 2) :
Game girl and her buddy are the best part of the show! 😀
It’s Hiro’s sword? What? How is that possible?!?
And when she said who her father is, they all seemed very surprised to learn he even has a daughter. (I forgot her father’s name.) “Do you have your father’s power, or are you his greatest creation?” 😯 Was she even born? Or did her father … design her?!? 😮
So her father’s abduction is connected to the whole Renautas, Midian, Epic product launch that the others are dealing with. Maybe he designs technology, and they needed him to help build the thing.
And clone guy is weird.
—
So suddenly Chuck has a power (sorry, I can’t seem to remember any names :p). It looks like he absorbs solar radiation, and channels it somehow. Has he never stayed out in the sun too long before? LOL!
—
And Noah. Noah, Noah, Noah. 😐
It is looking more and more like Noah helped create some “plan”, that he then had to forget for it to succeed. Because this is the second ally from the past that has risked/sacrificed themselves to prevent him learning the truth, saying they won’t risk “the plan”.
I am certain that Noah helped set this plan in motion, and it somehow depends on him not knowing about it now. And the suspicious guy following him around is encouraging him to find out, and learning everything too! He says he “used” to work for Renautas, but I bet he still does. Noah wouldn’t even know there was anything TO investigate if this guy hadn’t shown up!
So on June 13, Noah was wandering around in a hospital somewhere, away from the convention for part of the time. I think he was away from the convention when it exploded, put some plan into motion, went back into the rubble, and had the Haitian erase his memories of the day. It would explain how he woke up without a scratch.
And does anyone here believe that Claire is really dead? Anyone? Cause I don’t! I think this fancy “plan” involved hiding her, and convincing the world that she is dead. Noah made sure to be seen on footage sobbing over someone blond. And then for the world to believe it, he had to believe it too.
Because it would probably be disastrous if the people who are exploiting powers got hold of hers.
