Posted my theory in the Season Finale Theory thread, but wanted to post it here too:
This is my theory.
My own personal theory about the game-changer that Robert mentioned at the Paleyfest between his character Rum and Neal. – This is my theory about the game-changer between Neal and Rumpel, but it involves Henry and his grandfather Rumpelstiltskin. Henry is holding on to his grandfather’s hands and with knowing how he let go of his son’s hand in the episode “The Return”, he won’t make the same mistake with his grandson, so he falls in the portal with Henry. Which leads Neal to try to find a way to get his dad and son back to Storybrooke

However, like Slurpeez said on the other thread with this theory: it would require Jared to be able to carry a great many more scenes than he is now. Not sure if that’s the best move on the writers part.

But if they have to go somewhere to find them, Nealfire and Hook both used beans to go to Neverland, so perhaps they’ll think that is where Henry and Rumple went. So a bunch of them go to Neverland, but we don’t find out where Henry and Rumple actually are until next season. Perhaps?

It’s a theory, not a spoiler. Right now we know very little about the season finale except that we’re going to see Neverland.

Theory I have but I hope it doesn’t happen ( This theory could definitely be the game-changer between Rum and Neal, but also with everybody in the show )
The curse is the ”Empty-Hearted” ( mentioned in one of the sneak peeks for the episode “Welcome to Storybrooke” )
Needs the heart of the person they hate most.
Ok. This is my crazy theory but I really hope this doesn’t happen: Rum uses the “Empty-Hearted curse on Henry, takes away Henry’s heart to make Baelfire love him. Maybe Rumpel grows to hate Henry and in the 2-part finale this is what he does with Henry. This would definitely change Rum and Neal’s relationship forever.
Personally I hope this doesn’t happen, but you never know with these writers.

I am very nervous about Rumple right now. He had this fantastic moment of clarity (it seemed) in The Miller’s Daughter and now the sneak peak #5 for Welcome to Storybrooke makes it seem like it was all fake and just a “I’m dying so might as well say something that will make others forgive me.” I’m really bummed out right now about this. His phone call with Belle seemed so genuine and real. I’m trying to tell myself that he’ll be better after the episode Lacey where hopefully true love works some magic.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"March 16, 2013 at 2:00 pm #180316yinloveyangParticipantWell, it won’t be the first time something like that happens to my favourite character ( I stopped watching Charmed because I didn’t love the show. I just loved Cole’s character and a two years ago it happened with True Blood again because I just couldn’t understand why they destroyed Bill’s character).
But if it happens I’ll be pretty pissed off at writers. Not just because it’s predictable but because they just can’t give a break to Rumple’s fans. But this time I won’t stop watching the show because of it. No way.And I’m a new fan here. I was a huge fan of LOST and I loved Jennifer Morrison’s character in House md. that’s why I started watching OUAT. Now I’m totally obsessed with Rumple’s character (and also Bobby’s work). He’s just amazing so I’m prepared for anything they’ll do with Rumple’s character even though it’s not a good thing.
March 16, 2013 at 2:12 pm #180318RumplesGirlKeymasterPoor writers. Right now the EvilRegals are angry and it looks like the Dearies might be next. I would never stop watching, but this season saw some great Rumple moments of him trying to change and I really don’t want such a HUGE step backwards such as him killing Henry or trying to dispose of him.

Rumple’s own issues: Although Rumple will have to watch out for Regina, he’ll have problems closer to his heart to deal with. “He’s got his son and his relationship with Belle [Emilie de Ravin] to think about, so he’s distracted while all this is going on,” Carlyle says. “What he thinks about that isn’t really clear until Episode 22, at the very end, where you realize what he’s actually up to. It’s another game-changer of an episode. Everything turns around in that moment.” Carlyle also notes that the end of that same episode “is massive in terms of the relationship with Rumple and his son, and it can never ever be the same again.”
Could Robert Carlyle have let it slip that literally everything turns around in that moment? As in Rumple reverses time and turns back the clock in SB, like a ‘reset’ button. In Rumple’s mind he could have his 14-year-old son back and maybe, by consequence, Henry would cease to exist because he never would have been born. Yet, if that were to happen, I think Neal would look out for his family by escaping with them to Neverland just as time were turning backwards in SB.
"That’s how you know you’ve really got a home. When you leave it, there’s this feeling that you can’t shake. You just miss it." Neal Cassidy
