Maybe we’ll meet a certain mermaid. I could see the writers easily blending the mermaids of Neverland with The Little Mermaid fairy-tale.
I think that fits in well with the story line. Would like to see the two paired together!
Yes, before The Crocodile, I saw some theories out there that maybe they would pair up Hook and Ariel. I thought that was interesting idea since I read something here or in the chat about Hook concealing his identity in Peter Pan because he was a nobleman. So I thought it would be interesting if Killian Jones was just an alias, and he really was Prince Eric too because I think Colin O’Donoghue looks like he could be Prince Eric too, and it would be one way to redeem Hook if Ariel turned out to be his true love.
That’s a really interesting idea, wonder how they could work it in. I mean, given that Hook is hanging out with Cora these days, he’s not a stand up guy in the present day, and if he and Ariel had their story in Neverland, then it can’t have ended happily, which would be a bummer.
Though the original story didn’t have a happy ending where the mermaid and her price ended up together, so maybe if Ariel and Hook have a Neverland romance, it’ll go wrong somehow, but won’t be the end of their story, and they’ll be reunited in SB. Perhaps? Maybe that’s even part of the reason Hooks wants to get there, because Ariel ended up there? Though the Disney Ariel is all sweetness and light, mermaids do have a reputation for being brutal, and a tough little mermaid might be a good match for a pirate.
Ariel first meets her prince when she saves him when his ship is caught in a storm, and we just saw Hook’s ship go gurgling down a vortex through the sea. Who’s to say what condition he’ll be in when he pops out on the other side in Neverland. Maybe he’ll need rescuing. Hmmm.

So just a thought, technically Pinocchio was a lost boy as well so maybe they both ended up in Neverland and that is when August tells Bae about the curse and they both decide to come back to the real world together and Peter decides to stay until the curse is broken because he knows his father will be looking for him there..
Pinocchio used another portal (the wardrobe) and we already know he rescued baby Emma right when she got to our world. Not enough time to make him go to Neverland, do whatever and take another portal to our world.

It’s podsible they ran into each in NY though. I mean after August did all his running around as an adult.

October 24, 2012 at 10:52 pm #157996ceegeParticipantThe Bae is Peter Pan conversation has stayed with me for the past couple of days. I took that time to organize my thoughts – sorry if I don’t quote exact posts. But I really like this conversation / exchange of ideas.
I don’t believe that Bae will turn out to be Peter Pan, as I don’t believe Bae will be anyone but himself. However, in the case of Peter Pan, there’s three reasons why I specifically don’t think it will be the case.
1) Bae was supposed to go to a land without magic. Usually, that expression in the show refers to the Storybrook world (which is almost our world). I know the Blue Fairy has been known to be wrong or mistaken. However, I think that expression was deliberate on the part of the producers. They wanted us to know Bae was in “our” world. They have used mis-direction before, but this would be an out-right lie on their part. I don’t think they would toy with us in that specific way – in other ways, yes, but not in that way.
2) It does not fit the character of Peter Pan. True, they have been known to re-imagine the tales. However, Peter Pan is usually depicted younger that Bae, by at least 5 to 6 years. In the original book by J.M Barrie, he is even younger, as he is in not older that a few days, although the illustations make him look like about 5 years old. Furthermore, he is depicted as very naive. Before coming to Neverland, he has never been betrayed by an adult, so because of that, even though he spent years in Neverland, he never learned that some adults could not be trusted. In the original book, this was a trait that Hook exploited a number of times, by promising to fight fair and then tricking him. Bae, on the other hand, as been betrayed by his father. Such a betrayal would mean he never would have the childish trust that Peter has, such a naivete and love of life.
And more importantly,
3) It does not fit Bae’s character. Bae wanted his father to give up magic and power. Neverland is a land where magic is present. I don’t think Bae would accept living in this land and hang out with pixies, much less accept a magic shadow that can leave whenever it feels like it. They only way I could see him use some magic would be to fly to our world, and they stay here.
Yes, I know Regina wanted her nothing of her mother’s magic and then embrassed it. But I think Bae will turn out to be closer in character to Henry (who probably is his son), who rejected Regina’s magic, than to Regina’s character.
If I am wrong, and Bae is Peter Pan, than I think the rivalry with Hook will be because Hook will lie and say that he (Hook) killed Milah. I agree with those who think Hook is a bully, however, he does seem to have some sort of code which, to honour Milah, would prevent him from trying to turn a Bae against his father.
Again, thank you for the conversation. Nobody at work seems to watch the show, so it’s great to have people on line with whom I can discuss the episodes.
October 25, 2012 at 11:47 pm #158047faux paxParticipantCeege, i have to say your break down on the Peter Pan theory hit the nail on the head in regards to every reason i have hated it from the first time i heard it. That, and i think it would mean the writers were taking the easy way out when it comes to Rumple getting his happy ending. I mean if Bae is a still a child in any form he wouldn’t have had the opportunity to really grow into the scars Rumple’s unbroken deal undoubtedly left. I want Rumple to see how his abandonment hurt Bae, even if Bae isn’t going to be a bad guy.
I love the idea of Hook and Aerial together and i think it’s still possible. Keep in mind that when the show refers to “true love” it NEVER says “one true love.” There’s a big difference there. I think OUAT’s definition of true love is a pure and unselfish love. Think about it; Emma kissed Henry and it worked, and there was nothing romantic about it. By that logic, Killina and Millah were true loves, they were willing to die for each other, but that doesn’t mean Hook can’t find love again.
One last thing. Was I the only one who noticed that Hook obviously knew about Neverland before he tossed the bean into the water? I have a theory on that. Maybe he was originally a lost boy for a period of time and then he got board of following Peter’s orders. It could explain why they were such bitter rivals. After all, In OUAT it can’t be because of the hand thing. I have a headcanon that Hook was Peter’s older brother before he took off, but i have absolutely nothing to support that. 😆
