Also look for the spin-off to feature other lands in a mash-up style similar to Once that may make you question who a past character really was.
Having read this sentence 50 times, I’m leaning towards it meaning we’ll see someone from Wonderland in another world. Or someone we’ve seen in another world appearing in Wonderland.
We know Cora is there, but she wouldn’t be at the start of S2 of Once because she was in FTL when the Curse hit. So was Hook. So if you’re right, we can mark them off the list.
We also know that Alice and Cyrus travel to different worlds. So what if we get Ariel’s story in OUATinWL BEFORE we see her in OUAT.[adrotate group="5"]"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"May 29, 2013 at 1:32 pm #196480SlurpeezParticipant@Phee wrote:

A harebrained idea: I wonder if the Mad Hatter (aka Jefferson) is really Cyrus in disguise! He’s a genie with magic, which might also explain how he came by his portal-jumping hat! 💡 That way, Alice really could be the mother of Grace.

Well I like that because we’ve been saying for so long now that Alice as the mother of Grace would be a really great explanation.
But t-word wise, does it work? It looks like the adventures of Cyrus and Alice happens before Alice is locked up in the asylum, which is apparently at the same time of the second season (which makes no sense as she is in Victorian London). And Grace is 10 when the Curse hits (or about then) but Alice doesn’t appear to have aged that much between her time in WL and being admitted to the hosptial, she looks to be about 18-20. So…I don’t think so?"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"May 29, 2013 at 1:52 pm #196482SlurpeezParticipantYeah, my only thought is that possibly time in Wonderland works differently (which might explain why Cora didn’t seem to age after she went through the looking glass). So, maybe Cyrus was trapped in Wonderland, where he and Alice met, and she got pregnant and had a baby. But then, maybe she went to NL before coming to Victorian England. (We saw hints of NL in the long promo for Wonderland e.g. pirate ships and mentions of mermaids). Meanwhile, Cyrus was left to raise Grace and he used his magic to disguise himself, and he fled with baby Grace to the EF. Then, 10 years later, Regina recruited Jefferson to return to Wonderland. Twenty-eight years later, Alice and the White Rabbit come to post-curse SB where Alice is reunited with Jefferson/Cyrus and Grace. Told you this theory is harebrained. 😆

May 29, 2013 at 2:16 pm #196484RumplesGirlKeymasterI’m still very confused how we get to Victorian London…unless it’s not Victorian London but another world that is very much like our own but forever stuck in Victorian times.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"May 29, 2013 at 2:20 pm #196485DemiletoParticipantI’d absolutely LOVE to find out that Alice is Grace’s mother; it’d certainly be interesting to see this show turn out to be yet again about a family – Grace’s family – like Once is about Henry’s. However, I feel like we’d have to deal with a lot of stretching to see this scenario come true, given the little we know about stories of Jefferson, Alice and Cyrus.
Alice meets Cyrus in his genie bottle, frees him, has a ton of adventures in Wonderland and other realms and then she loses him when the Red Queen pushes him into an abyss of an unspecified world. She then somehow returns to Victorian England (!) while the spin-off starts almost at present-day Storybrooke (!!). Meanwhile Jefferson was already an active realm jumper, and a shady one at that, about 10 years prior to the casting of the Curse, sometime in-between he met a woman who he seemingly loved deeply and they gave birth to a daughter, Grace, for whom he dropped his realm jumper job, but lost her when he got stuck in Wonderland. It’s already a tough job to have Alice be Grace’s mother when Alice and Cyrus seem like true loves by the trailer, it seems to be an even bigger one to have Cyrus be, somehow, Jefferson all along.
Then again, a lot of the OUATinWL’s potential timeline seems confusing, with the pilot featuring a Victorian England sanitorium and Storybrook at the same time. 😕

Yes this seems to be the biggest stumbling block right now (for me at least). How on Earth does SB fit into this if Alice is in England around the same time as Bae when he met Wendy??
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"May 29, 2013 at 3:34 pm #196489SlurpeezParticipantPerhaps the White Rabbit is a time-turner as well as a portal-jumper. He seems to have magic, which he uses to open rabbit-holes, which could also be time portals.

And traditionally the White Rabbit carries a pocket watch and is overly obsessed with time. We know A and E have said there will be no time traveling on OUAT but maybe they could explore it more in this one. If Alice is world hoping looking for Cyrus, the White Rabbit could bring her to SB in present time before realizing he isn’t there (at least not the Cyrus she knows if you’re right about Jefferson) and leaving.

Interesting. I agree that it makes sense for the White Rabbit to be a time jumper, and I guess that as long as they don’t try to deal with the most messy aspects of time travel – paradoxes, changing the future, etc – it should be fine. But it still brings us to the original Mad Hatter problem: Sebastian can’t be all that much on OUATinWL, if at all, because of his professional commitments with Marvel’s movieverse, and I’d think that if he’s Cyrus with a new face that he’d necessarily have to have a bigger guest presence here, if not a regular role starting with episode 1×14 onwards.
