Thank you! And following that, Adam confirmed on Twitter not long ago that the London we saw in SSTR with Bae is the REAL London and not a fictional London. So I think the same applies to OUATinWL

Keeping that in mind, I figure they probably had to show that Cyrus is very much alive somewhere, otherwise ARK’s search for him, (which will make up much of the show), is totally redundant, and the show would be pointless.
Isn’t that the point of the necklace, though? At least the trailer seems to hint that.
True. But actually showing him alive somewhere in present day would hammer it home and make it beyond a doubt obvious to anyone watching that the goal of the heroes of this show is indeed attainable.

LOL, loved it! 😀

That really depends in what are their intentions regarding present day Cyrus, if they keep him a secret we can be sure something really bombastic will be revealed about him. It’d be like Bae, especially for those who were unspoiled: the moment we found out who his present self really was we realized that he was also the father of Henry.

True. Can you really sustain a show for any given amount of time around the concept of “Find Cyrus.” Not really. Bae had to be found, Emma had to break the Curse. Plot has to keep moving. So I think the first season could be “find Cyrus” coupled with flashbacks of Alice and Cyrus together world hoping, but she will find Cyrus at the end of the season and the revelation will be something unexpected.

My headcannon of Alice and Jefferson is really throwing me off and I have to realign my thinking. I don’t like doing that. 😆
I’m also getting the feeling that Rumplestiltskin isn’t that great at researching. He may know how to word a deal and is the best businessman around, but he lost the shoes that were presumably Dorothy’s, some shadow from Neverland is able to cross into non-magical lands, there are beans out there he had no idea about it despite a giant beanstalk existing somewhere in FTL, and it seems the White Rabbit is able to portal jump into our Land Without Magic. Maybe if he would have just had a long talk with Belle at the castle about Bae this could have been resolved differently. She figured out about Phillip being the monster terrorizing the village awfully quickly. With her knowledge of languages and the use of that library, methinks she would have had everything figured out quickly with no bloodshed. 😆 But then we would have had no Emma, Henry or Mr. Gold’s fabulous suits. 😉
(Yes, I ended up turning the Wonderland thread around to Rumple…I tend to turn everything around to Rumple. 🙄 😀 )

The thing is, not only we don’t know if Sebastian would want to play a regular role in a TV series currently, but he also isn’t likely to be completely free to do OUAT or OUATinWL for the next few years. His contract with Marvel is for six (!) movies and Captain America 2 is only the 2nd in that list; we can expect an appearance in Captain America 3, but for which ones else does Marvel needs him? Avengers 2? A Winter Soldier solo movie? Or that number is just to secure him for as many films as they want? We don’t know.
As far as which tale to use for the spin-off, not only they’d already introduced Wonderland in the parent show but it’s also likely the one out of the three that provides us “lands” that are (mostly) in public domain which has the largest number of iconic characters.

And it doesn’t help that the Alice they cast looks so much like Grace, huh? 🙂

June 1, 2013 at 8:23 pm #196895kfchimeraParticipantI thought I read somewhere that the whole idea for Once Wonderland was to not have a series that would go on for a years, but rather, would be a contained story for a season only, in the way that American Horror Story was a contained story for the first season, and an entirely new season /cast (reusing only one actress I think). Did they abandon that concept?

Good question. That was said when the plan was seemingly to air it as a mini-series during ONCE’s extended winter hiatus, but now that it has its own timeslot in ABC’s schedule who knows?
Especially if the series turns out to be successful enough to warrant a second season. Would ABC really risk changing completely a formula that worked?

That is what I heard originally too. But now it seems like it will get a full season if it is successful enough come Winter Break.
