Did this ever actually happen? Or was it scrapped when S7 wasn’t received like they had hoped?

No.  This never happened.  For the past few years there have been graphic novels and compassion novels written to coincide with the actual universe.  The most recent was Regina Rising which took place when she was 16.  Others include Snow and Red attempting to save the Huntsman from the Evil Queen, the Evil Queen crossing paths with Daniel’s brother, William, a backstory for Red, I believe, and a backstory for Hook and Rumpbelle…not those three together but one for Hook and another for them lol

Yeah some of those I am familiar with, I just wasn’t sure if this Henry and Violet book ever came out, or if it just disappeared into the fog.
