I have no idea. Maybe. But i could see Rumpel giving her something that would ruin her. That is all i am saying. Stealing something from him works too.
For me, Regina and Rumpel have never been on the same side and never will be. They are always playing games with each other.

isn’t Regina the real antagonist in OUAT and Rumpel more like a Benjamin Linus (I play for my own side) type of guy?
September 23, 2012 at 3:35 am #154367hjbauParticipantI know people think so, but i don’t. In the end, i see Rumpel as the big bad of the series because he is the instigator, but we will see. I actually think it is more likely that Regina will be redeemed, but maybe they will do it for both characters by series end.
I just think there are three sides to this war game, Regina, Rumpel, and then the family, Emma, Snow, Charming, Henry, and their allies. I think that those three sides are the sides and that Regina and Rumpel have their own purposes and are not going to join with any one of the sides except when it serves their purposes.

I agree. Regina is set on revenge against Snow which immediately puts her into villain territory. Rumple plays both sides off against each other to suit his purposes. He helped Charming find Snow because he needed their true love for the curse and he needed them to have Emma. He helped Regina by giving her the dark curse and telling her how to cast it because he needed to get to a land without magic to find Baelfire. He is neither an ally of good or an ally of evil.
All magic comes with a price!

He only uses them when he needs something. At least that has been true so far. Rumpel doesn’t help them, he helps himself.

I totally agree that until Belle, Rumpel as the Dark One cared for no one except Baelfire and himself. The fact that he designed the Dark Curse to destroy all of FTL is testament to that. The Charmings were simply a means to an end for Rumpel so that he could bring true love magic to our world. With Belle now in the picture in SB, however, I wonder if that’ll start to change. Also, if the popular theory of Baelfire being Henry’s dad is true, I could see Henry (and his family) becoming of real importance to Rumpel.

So far we haven’t seen much evidence of that. And if Bae reacts badly to Rumpel, which i hope he does, then that will add conflict between Rumpel and the family. We will see.

Here is a new 14-sec. teaser: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5L9UtmWs9A8&feature=player_embedded
Here’s a another 30-sec promo, with one or two new clips, but mostly ones we’ve seen before: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GPc7iv9rlsk&feature=player_embedded

September 24, 2012 at 10:40 am #154458mickeyParticipantI think it’s pretty obvious by looking at the promos and sneak peeks that Regina is the real antagonist and the Charmings are first and foremost going against her. But it was obvious even before the promos appeared on the basis of what happened so far in the series.
After all Regina not Rumple is the one who tried to put both Snow and Emma under the sleeping curse which is considered worse than death, ordered to kill Charming, manipulated someone into killing Snow’s father and almost killed Henry. She’s the Charmings’ personal enemy not Rump.
But it’s not only that. It’s also the difference between Regina’s and Rumple’s attitude towards other people. Regina takes pleasure in other people’s suffering and tries to make everybody else around her miserable. Her happy ending is depriving other people of their happily ever after. With Rumple it’s different. I agree that he doesn’t care about people other than his loved ones and uses others as a means to an end which is finding his son. But contrary to Regina he doesn’t enjoy their misery and doesn’t actively seek opportunities to make them unhappy. He’s not emotionally involved in their lives, he just doesn’t care. His happy ending is the reunion with his son. He’s obviously no angel. If a member of Charming family ever tried to get in the way of finding his son, he would be capable of murder, I’m sure. But his goal is not hurting the Charmings, whereas Regina’s is. And the Charmings know that. -
