Thanks RG for trying for me again on that tweeting thing. 🙂

If Walsh was in our world for the past 28-30 years during the curse & following, he should have aged. So, he should be around 50 years old & he looks to be around 35. That would make him 5 when he came to the land without magic. It’s possible he has a magic anti-aging potion or something. Maybe Zelena’s plans are really long term & she sent him to be raised by Uncle Henry & Auntie Em or Dorothy, but kept in contact with him somehow? This seems a little cracky to me, but I’m wondering about the timeline otherwise.
March 4, 2014 at 5:30 pm #249955TheGoldenKeyParticipantI don’t know this. I don’t understand why a Winged Monkey would be in the EF when the curse was cast nor how one could escape the curse if they were there. Only safe zone was Cora’s protected bubble and nothing could penetrate that.
Even if the monkey had escaped and it was Walsh, that would make Walsh 28 years older than Emma. He’d be nearing 60 now. I just don’t see it. But hey, anything’s possible. 🙂

March 4, 2014 at 5:50 pm #249959RumplesGirlKeymasterThe age thing is an issue, I agree.
But they do have ways around people aging. Maybe his human self doesn’t age because it’s not his “natural” state? Or maybe the Witch made froze him?
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"March 4, 2014 at 5:51 pm #249960TheWatcherParticipantIf Walsh is magical flying monkey sent to do the witches bidding, I’m sure she took care of his aging for him. Remember Rump told Lacey he would keep her young. Also, we don’t know how monkeys are in the Once-verse. In the books, the flying monkeys were their own race enslaved by the witch. In Once, I think they are people she transformed into flying monkeys to do her bidding. So ya, aging wouldn’t be a problem. We also don’t know if he escaped the curse and came to our world. He could have went to Oz somehow, or again, into Cora’s spell-blocker bubble.
Even if the monkey had escaped and it was Walsh, that would make Walsh 28 years older than Emma. He’d be nearing 60 now. I just don’t see it. But hey, anything’s possible. 🙂
Well Neal is, like what, 270? Time could work differently in other lands. Wasn’t Dorothy in Oz for a few days but when she got home, it was only a few hours? (in the 1939 movie)

I think the point TGK is making is that Walsh was HERE in which time moves “normally”
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"March 4, 2014 at 6:04 pm #249967TheGoldenKeyParticipantNeal didn’t age because he spent his time in NL and possibly OZ. You don’t age in those world’s but you DO in the real world. Rumple didn’t age because he’s the DO. Sorry, but I just don’t see Walsh hanging out for nearly 30 years, in our world, without aging.
Even if it were a Winged Monkey in the background, it was in the EF with the curse overtaking it and there was no escape at that point.
It’s an interesting theory and good catch on the picture but I think it’s a dragon. Dragons were in the EF; Winged Monkeys were in OZ.

To play devil’s advocate here, techinically so is the Wicked Witch and we know she’s in the EF during the Lost Year at least. Who is say she didn’t move into Regina’s castle right after the Curse?
and like I said above, they could get around the aging issue with some magical handwaving.

Perhaps she did, though I’m still thinking it was after Emma broke the curse. Let’s say for argument sake that she was in the protected portion that Cora had created. No one, not even Cora, was able to leave until after Emma broke the curse. Even then, it took some doing for Cora & Hook to get to SB, which was now part of the real world. Even Emma & Snow had a hard time getting back in S2.
As I said, it’s a fun theory but I just see too many things pointing away from it. I think Walsh showed up shortly after Emma did in NY with Henry.
