Once Upon a Time’s Emma Is Ready for a Fight — With Regina?
Apparently if you wish upon a star enough, you will get actual footage from Once Upon a Time Season 3.
In case you missed it over the holiday weekend, ABC let loose with this new promo trumpeting the big splash Once made at this summer’s Comic-Con event, sprinkling in some glimpses of the new season for good measure.
Among the sneak peeks, you’ll spy Emma working on her fitness as she, Hook and the others sail to Neverland. You’ll also get a taste for an expected butting of heads, as Emma and Regina seemingly clash over how best to track down their son.
“There will certainly be hurdles to be cleared in order for them to rescue Henry — if they do in fact manage to rescue Henry,” series cocreator Adam Horowitz told TVLine of the team’s “too many leaders” conundrum. “We’ll see different alliances forming, and we’ll see splits occurring.”

[adrotate group="5"]I think Henry is going to get sent to Oz at the end of the 11th episode. PP is defeated or knows he’s going to be defeated so he sends Henry off before the JR6 can rescue him.
I wonder if one of the splits we see occurring will be between Charming and Snow. Regina, Rumple, Hook and Emma having a difference of opinion on how best to save Henry wouldn’t be unexpected but we assume Snowing will stand united. For them to have a difference of opinion from each other would be big and if Snow is to go back to “Bandit Snow” then she and Charming will have to have a falling out.

The end in her right hand looks potentially pointy to me. And the way her right hand is holding it, it sorta looks like maybe the metal is twisted, (like a screw) and her hand is resting in the curve of it. But that could all just be because the lighting is making me see stuff. There’s definitely a bit hanging down in the middle though.
ETA that the general tumblr opinion seems to be that it’s a sword. Potentially one that belonged to Bae.
Maybe the dangling bit is a strap on the scabbard, kinda like this…
Other end of the dangling bit connects up with the end of the scabbard that’s in her left hand, so you can strap it onto your belt or whatever. In her right hand, is the dagger’s handle, and it’s twisted/shaped to make it easier to grip. Perhaps? (I know this isn’t exactly an important piece of information, but now that it’s bugging me, I’ve gotta figure it out. LOL)I like the idea that it was a weapon Hook had given to Bae, back in the day. This could come immediately after Emma says she’s preparing for a fight, and he could comment about her needing a weapon if she’s gonna be fighting. Then he can give her this dagger, which he’d also given to Bae, and they can have a little bonding moment about how they’ve both lost him.
That’s sorta what I was thinking Phee: this is a moment where they connect over losing Nealfire by Hook giving Emma this dagger/sword thing that belonged to Bae.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"I don’t think that is Bae’s, I think it might be his (Hook’s) from his father if anything other wise I am sure Bae would have kept it since it was small enough to carry.
At this point I wouldn’t be surprised if it was Hook’s fathers or Bae’s. I also wouldn’t be surprised if it was just a dagger Hook had lying around, being a Pirate and all. Is it Sept 29th yet?

I don’t agree. That sword had a very long blade.
There’s also something called a ‘short pirate sword.’ If you google it, the hilt tends to be very decorative and fancy but I think they’re used for fighting close-up. I wouldn’t call the blade long in the instagram photo, especially since part of is it is covered by the tree.
other observations: Emma’s wearing the same blouse in the second image. It has to be a short sword.

Summary: this might be angle thing, straight on vs side shot, but the sword Emma is holding looks about as long as her arm in the twitpic. The “whatever” she is holding in the shot with Hook doesn’t look as long. But again, angle difference.
This is the sword Nealfire favored in The Miller’s Daughter and I remember back then we all speculated that it looked a lot like a pirate curvy sword and how that was evidence of being in NL and aboard the JR for some time.

"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"The sword that MRJ was holding in “The Miller’s Daughter” could have been from Hook’s ship, but then how did it get back to Hook’s ship? I thought it was just a sword that was laying around in Mr. Gold’s shop.
It might even be a different sword from the pic Ginny tweeted of J-Mo in character in NL. To me, the blades look different. The only commonality might be the curvature of the blade. But it makes more sense that they’re two different swords: the first one Neal is holding is from Mr. Gold’s shop (where it remains to this day), and the second sword is from Hook’s ship.
But I still don’t think either sword is the object Emma is holding in the newest pic from S3. To me, it looks mostly like a gun or at best a dagger, but not a sword with an elongated blade (even taking into account angle difference).
