I hope we get to learn the difference between Magjc and Witchcraft. We know magic is stronger while witchcraft is feeble, so I think that using witchraft requires a lot more out of you then magic and may even have a bigger price. thats why bad witches are ugly. The dark witchcraft takes a toll on them physically to the point where Evanora needed an amulet to hide her ugliness and such

There have been far too many hints to Oz for them not to go there next, I think.

"Because... it was born out of true love."December 6, 2013 at 5:40 pm #228538MatthewPaulModeratorConsidering the first 10-15 minutes of The Wizard of Oz is in black and white, I wonder if WW of the W will be from a realm of Frankenstein’s “A Land without Color.” It seems fitting if we see her in flashbacks (and probably will) that’s where she’ll be. Like Kansas is there is the country side of that realm.
Actually, the Kansas scenes were in sephiatone, which is different than black and white. It has more of a brownish tint. The dialogue from “The Doctor” seems to imply that Dorothy’s Kansas is the same Kansas as our world, similar to how the Darlings lived in the real London. Jefferson had said that the slippers had already taken presumably Dorothy to “another land”, and Rumple replied with “that’s why I needed them. To GET to that other land.”

I thought that too, though it was in the crack theory thread:
I do seriously want more of the monster world because in part I feel they wasted Anders but in part it is just different and awesome potentially. The Wizard of OZ starts off B&W so maybe Dorothy ‘s “Kansas” is really in that land and Rumple mistakenly thought slippers went to the land without magic but they did not?
So I see Matt saying Sepia versus B&W but I feel it is roughly the same idea, a world of limited color, and Whale was in “Europe” of that world so there could be an American state of some sort. As I wrote there, what Rumple thought happened may not have been what happened as he is not infallible, just crafty, powerful and clever but he does have blindspots.
“If I had a world of my own, everything would be nonsense. Nothing would be what it is, because everything would be what it isn't. And contrary wise, what is, it wouldn't be. And what it wouldn't be, it would. You see?” -- Lewis Carroll, Alice's Adventures in Wonderland & Through the Looking-Glass

Jefferson: Oh. Couldn’t find ‘em. Heard talk they’ve already been moved to another land.
Rumpelstiltskin: That’s what I needed to get to that other land.
Jefferson: Well, come with me in my hat. I’m sure we can work something out.
Rumpelstiltskin: No, no. Your hat only transports between magical realms. I need to get to a land without magic.
Jefferson: Why would anyone want that?
Rumpelstiltskin: My business.
I’m betting that Kansas will be in our world. Plus it fits into my cracky headcanon that from Neverland Bae came to Oz for a period. The Wizard was a con man who was blown to Oz in a storm in his balloon. So, as I’ve said many time, I imagine Neal went to Oz, learned the Wizard’s ways and then they both came back to our world in his balloon.
After Googling, there are many court battles ongoing about the rights to the characters in the Baum’s stories and how they’re portrayed on screen. Everyone is fighting over what is allowed and what isn’t and what length movie studios can go to claim rights to character in public domain. So my take is anytime someone does something with Baum’s characters, someone is going to sue.
For anyone who hasn’t read the original book or forgets what it’s about here is a quick summary of the first book: The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

I do think Kansas has to be in our world. I think to make a “Fictional Kansas/America” is a bit extreme in this case.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"December 6, 2013 at 7:02 pm #228557PriceofMagicParticipantI’m now thinking it could be the wicked witch of the west because of Regina’s “I don’t care if it turns me green” comment. Since the new villain will have history with Regina, that comment could make sense if the villain had been doing something for Regina and the price of the magic was it turned her green.

They keep teasing Oz each season, so I think it’s time to show it.
Now I think Oz itself is going to be flashbacks only with the Wicked Witch in present day SB, so we aren’t actually going there.
