VCF might have deleted the tweet, but searching their @ replies, there are a few that look like they were probably in response to the rumoured deleted tweet. So I’m gonna guess he did actually tweet it then delete it.
@VancityFilming I might have just started singing We're Off To See The Wizard haha #OZ #OUAT

Vancity just tweeted, but removed:
captaincronut:“Red coat… Ruby slippers… #just saying #OUAT #OnceUponATime”
I was too slow to capture the tweet, but it was there!

December 7, 2013 at 10:38 pm #228711RumplesGirlKeymasterSo is Mader wearing red shoes or a red coat…or is VCF just teasing her character by talking about obvious symbols from the story? Cause if Mader is wearing the red shoes, she might be East witch instead of WWW.

If we ever see a pair of red shoes (and Hans Christian Anderson had a gruesome tale about some), odds are they won’t look much like the MGM movie because again, avoiding getting too close.
So what if the WWW/WWE used the shoes instead of Dorothy and came to the Land Without Magic whatever we calculated as x years before curse, and was living in NYC? So this new villain comes to SB from outside its borders, but from within the real world. There is the saying that just because you are paranoid does not mean they are out to get you. So what if there were actually other magic creatures besides the dragon, who escaped the Home Offfice (especially as we know magic elimination was a front used by the true leader Pan).
This is OUAT so twisting and one-offs aren’t going to get confused with the original material which is probably why they’re able to get the copyright on characters they have, though I’m sure there were some negotiations and payments made. After all it is better to have an agreement then the expense of a court case after

December 8, 2013 at 5:07 am #228730TheWatcherParticipantAbout the red coat, In Oz The Great And Powerful, before the wicked witch was evil she was just a nice girl named Theodora who fell in love with the wizard. It was her evil sister (Evanora, future wicked witch of the east) who gave her a magic green apple and turned her green and evil. BEFORE she was evil, Theodora wore mostly red.
She draws her magic from her ruby ring. Whenever she uses magic in the film, it glows red. There is a theory that after Evanora lost her power by Glinda breaking her emerald necklace, Theodra will use the ruby ring to make the shoes. I am 95% certain thatvif this woman is wearing a red coat with the shoes, she is Theodora.
And yes, I am aware that I have said. I just wanted to include that with the red coat, chances are increased that she is the Wicked Witch of The West

I’ve been wondering something similar, if the NYC stuff might tie into her coming to town. How about this though…
Dorothy is still the one who came to our world with the shoes, and Rebecca’s character, (I’m all but convinced she’s WWW at the moment), has found a way to come here as well, to get the shoes back. Traditionally, they’re considered to be an heirloom of WWW’s family, because they’d belonged to her sister, WWE. Maybe that green pendant belonged to her sister too, (if they’re gonna go the route of Theodora/Evanora from Great and Powerful, like TheWatcher mentioned, the red coat could be a match to the movie). Or maybe they’re just important because they’re particular magical objects, without the need of the family connection, but what I’m thinking is that she needs to collect these certain items together, in order to achieve absolute power, (perhaps Glinda gave Dorothy the shoes for that reason, knowing that she’d take them out of Oz and out of WWW’s grasp). Maybe this history she has with Regina involves Regina having another item she also needs. (I’d love to say that she needs Blue’s wand, and that Blue’s connected to that family somehow, but they’ve hinted that it’s Regina who Rebecca’s character has the connection to.)
The “Witch Hunt” ep could be WWW hunting down Regina in present day, and vice versa in flashbacks.

What if the big twist in the story is that the WWW got the shoes back from Dorothy? Jefferson said RUMORS said the shoes had left the land. (specially “heard talk they’ve already been moved to another land”) but we don’t know that they actually were.
So what if the WWW succeed in getting the shoes back from Dorothy and that’s how she is able to move.
EDIT
Just re-read Watcher’s post. So Theodora turned evil when she ate an apple? And Mader’s character is going up against Regina?
*ding ding ding*
I think Watcher might be right. She’s the WWW, who is also Theodora.

I agree with the twist part. In the Wicked books (atleast in the first and second book) people only speculated that Dorothy actually went home, and that the shoes had the power to do so (the only magical power they really had was assisting Nessarose, the witch of the east, in standing and walking by herself since she was born without arms) and some people thought Dorothy was still in Oz somewhere prattling on >> But then again, Neal did say the shoes could world jump so idk..

Here’s the scene where she eats the apple and transforms…
