If we are going to see Oz then instead of Evil Glinda, how about the Wicked Witch of the West? That would be a major role, since she’s so iconic.

That’s what I was thinking too and I love this casting! I thought she was great on Lost and I’ve seen her in a few other things too. I’m looking forward to seeing her on TV again. 🙂

I sorta wonder if they’re going to combine the two: Evil Glinda of the West? She has Glinda’s look and we know how much they love to turn the stories on their head.

    TeamEvilGlinda!

But shouldn’t she be dead in present day, assuming that whole traditional story went down some time before Jefferson visited Oz to find that the slippers had moved on?

Rebecca Mader kind of resembles Kristin Bauer van Straten. Perhaps Rebecca will portray Maleficent’s sister?

They do look alike. Maybe Mal and Glinda are sisters (not getting off the EvilGlinda train…lol)

Well, we don’t know what happened to the Wicked Witch in this version. She might have survived ….

And gone by the name Glinda! 🙂

The bigger question might be…what does she have against our cast? With whom does her history lay and what’s her issue with our heroes?

I’m not going with Glinda or any Oz character, because the article mentions “iconic fairy tale villain.” Glinda wouldn’t be an iconic villain, because she’s iconic for being good. I think it’ll be someone with roots in the Enchanted Forest.

Lisa mentioned in the chat that Rebecca could be playing Cruella de Vil! Would be interesting, and as Matt said in the chat, the actress is British!
