I don’t think Hook is in Storybrooke. I am pretty sure, at least it seems like, that a character is either in Storybrooke or in fairytale land present where Emma and Snow are. A character cannot, as of now, be in both locations at once. So if Cora and Hook are in fairytale land present then they are not in going to be in Storybrooke until they figure out how to return.
I’m not sure if this has been mentioned in any other thread however, I always wondered if Cora wasn’t Rumple’s missing wife. Think of the spin it would put on things. Bae & EQ being siblings. What if EQ was really Rumple’s and not Henry’s? What if Bae were really Hook’s and not Rumples?

We haven’t had confirmation that Snow and Emma have returned by ep 8, have we? I think there was some speculation about when they’d be back, but buggered if I remember which ep that speculation was in relation to. We do know that Smee is in SB though, because he’s the one we’ve seen in a scene with Belle in an early ep. Would Smee be in SB without Hook being there too?

That theory has popped up a couple of times, and it’s one of those theories where trying to figure out the logistics of it makes my head hurt. 😆 Taking this new info into consideration…Cora hanging out with Hook could well suggest that they have a history, and she could have been Rumple’s wife who ran off with Hook. However, there’s been a casting announced for Milha, who is believed to be Rumple’s wife, making it unlikely that she became Cora. Though I suppose they can only make Barbara Hershey look so young, so if they wanted to flash WAY back, they may need another actress. But then if YoungCora ran off with Hook, they would have been the same age then, and Barbara is older than Colin. That could potentially be explained away if he was living in Neverland where he didn’t age, and she somehow ended up back in FTL where she DID age, but she would have had to jump forward in time, because Rumple is centuries old, and though Cora is powerful, I don’t think she’s THAT kind of powerful, where she can live for centuries. And then there’s the miller’s daughter thing. The way it was mentioned made it sound like it was common knowledge who her parents were, which probably wouldn’t have been the case if she was born centuries ago and has since ducked back into FTL at some point after running away from Hook, who she’d run away with to Neverland. *headdesk*
I’m suspecting that the corner of FTL that wasn’t touched by the curse, was protected because Cora was there, and as the mother of the curse-caster, she could generate some sort of immunity to it, and she’s now the big bad who rules over it. Someone like Hook could possibly be seen as her equal in stature, and if he’s after Rumple, and she’s got her own beef/s with Rumple, she may see fit to team up with Hook, especially if he arrives from Neverland, and she’s looking for a way to jump between worlds as well, so she can go after Rumple and/or Regina.
I would imagine there is no reason that Smee couldn’t be in Storybrooke without Hook. I just think that when the curse hit a person either went through to Storybrooke or they stayed frozen in fairytale land, so they can’t be in both places until they are able to realm jump again.
I sort of imagine that while part of fairytale land was protected as in the people did not go through, that the other parts of fairytale land are still there, right? Though maybe not. I just keep thinking that they really should show Emma and Snow go back to the locations that Snow remembers like their castle. Emma could see those places, but who knows it really did look like the world broke apart around them in the pilot.

Since both Regina and Rumpel know that the Enchanted Forest still exists, I think the curse was designed to protect a remanent of FTL. They may have plans to go back there some day.

I love that idea, hjbau! I’d love for Emma to see the castle where she was born. Sadly, though it looked pretty ravaged when the dark curse hit there.
