He’s not going to be happy about it, I agree, but I think he’s going to be very cautious about angering Bae again. The “death” of his son is really a wake up call and I think Rumple’s going to try to make amends if he sees Bae and Hook are on good terms (which they may not be, given how their relationship ended).

She made a pretty severe judgement about his heart but generally has a good sense about people…but when she made that judgement he was pretty deep in his revenge-mode. And vengeance has been repeatedly shown to be the quickest way to a black heart in this show–it’s Regina’s desire for vengeance on Snow that makes her so evil, and Rumple’s warning seemed to be more about vengeance than the actual killing itself when Snow initially wanted to kill the queen.
If Belle and Bae both warmed up to Hook, that would be really hard on Rumple, since he already lost Milah to Hook and almost lost Belle to Hook (albeit in a different way). But it might also force him to see Hook as a person rather than an adversary. And it might help Hook to see Rumple as something other than the coward who murdered Milah.
There is such rich delicious potential for character development between the four of them. I hope at least some of it plays out.

Once he and Bae are back on good terms and he has Belle, I think he can let Milah’s betrayal go. Both Hook and Rumple are looking for ways to let that pain go (different pain but both over the same woman). Rumple can move on with Belle and Bae and Hook can move on as well (insert the ship of your choice here 😆 ).
Rumple and Hook are so much alike that they would make almost great friends if it wasn’t for Milah and the the hurt between them. Maybe saving Henry (and Bae’s eventual return) will help."He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"May 20, 2013 at 7:51 pm #195572KebParticipantWell, Bae’s right in a couple of ways about Rumple and Hook being alike–one of them being their shared taste in women :p And with the Lacey personality added to the group, it is clear that Milah, Cora, and Belle do have some shared personality traits along with superficial physical similarities. There’s the thirst for adventure that Belle and Milah shared, and the desire for power and respect that drove Cora and Milah, and a lust for power that Lacey shares with Cora. And all three of them are intelligent and have a slightly rebellious inner strength. Their differences are huge–but one can see why they might all have found themselves in a relationship with Rumple. Hook’s relationships with them are all different, of course, but the only person we’ve seen teamed up with him for longer than Cora is Smee, and he does see Belle as desirable when he’s not looking at her as an extension of Rumple.

I hope so.

I’ve been hoping for this deliciously awkward clash of relationships with Rumple/Bae/Hook for ages, so bring it on!
Yes indeed. It’s true Rumple may resort to keeping his anger in check as to not drive Bae away. But probably only after he’s gone somewhat ‘crazy’ about the whole relationship between his son and Hook. One thing is for sure. The more hostile rumple gets, the further tward Hook he pushes Bae.
