It finally happened: the long awaited musical episode of OUAT!

What was your favorite song? Least favorite song? Which song or performer surprised you the most? Did OUAT pull of the much anticipated musical to your satisfaction or were you left disappointed?

Favorite Song:It’s a three way toss up between “Revenge is Gonna Be Mine,” “Powerful Magic,” and “Emma’s Theme.”

Least Favorite: “The Charmings vs the Evil Queen”

I think they pulled it off. It’s totally corny and cheesy and frankly the plot is overly silly but it’s good fun entertainment with some catchy songs that turn into ear worms. I don’t think they should ever attempt this kind of format again (go full on Galavant, in other words) but it was a well executed shake up.

I liked Hook’s song and Zelena’s song was good but I did not like the CGTI.  Least favorite was definitely the sing off between Regina and the Charmings.  I might have really enjoyed this episode if it wasn’t so close to the end where they are supposed to be finishing up story lines.  Like a couple of other episodes this second half I found it while entertaining mostly a waste of time.

I wasn’t expecting too but I loved the songs! Everybody did a great job both lyricists and singers. If I have one quibble it would be the jarring use of the b-word in Regina’s song. That was unnecessary I thought and it kind of ruins the replay-ability of her song for me. Keep it Disney guys. Keep it Disney.

As for someone who is a lover of musicals I will always enjoy all the songs, because all the actors were amazing with their songs, but if choose which ones were my favorite it would have to be Revenge is Gonna Be Mine, and The Queen Sings/Love Doesn’t Stand A Chance. Now I still don’t understand why the soundtrack has Lana’s songs separate because it should’ve just been listed as one song. Even so I love those songs because I just love the punk rock feels, and of course just hearing Collin songs sends chills up my spine

I thought the songs were terrible. They did not pull the plot forward at all. Emma’s song was the best, but even it barely made sense because it was just another deus ex machina on this show. Sure, it was funny to see them singing, but a lot of the times they barely sounded like themselves and the lyrics were just bad. The songs were terrible.

I cant pick a fave because I honestly liked all of them for different reasons. My least favorite though is probably Charmings Vs Evil Queen, although I liked the ending of it. I thought Bex has a wonderful voice and her song was great, but my only issue with it is that I didn’t think this was what id get for a villain song for her though. Somewhat the same with Regina, but still. Its a shame Rump didn’t sing because I really believe he would have gotten that mega show stopping villain number a la Poor Unfortunate Souls or Friends On The Other Side.

But I loved it. I wished they hadn’t released the songs prior though because I will admit to skipping through a few since id been watching them nonstop for the past few days. But yeah and I also just wanna say….

It wasnt better than Buffy’s musical episode :3

Now I still don’t understand why the soundtrack has Lana’s songs separate because it should’ve just been listed as one song

How else can they charge $1.29 for two songs? Lol

While the music was great, I thought the lyrics were mediocre to awful.

I liked Powerful Magic the most, probably because of Ginny and Josh and their chemistry.

Revenge is Gonna Be Mine sounded like a combination of “Somebody to Love” by Queen and Mine Mine Mine from Pocahontas.

I was never a fan of “Wicked Always Wins” phrase, mainly because Zelena always loses and because it is stupid.

Emma’s theme is not really Emma’s theme. This is Emma’s theme: https://youtu.be/bnIV9v_ml8k
What we heard was the end theme: https://youtu.be/k16jb6JZsws

If anyone has seen the bts of a Disney movie, they would know that usually when they write a song, the composition and the lyrics are written together. Emma’s Theme had the composition first and the lyrics were written for the composition, which in my opinion made the song sound clumsy, like the words didn’t really much the pacing of the music.

some catchy songs that turn into ear worms

Done literally, that would’ve been the perfect explanation for all the singing.

I wonder if that line was a reference to Ursula. She had that line in Poor Unfortunate Soul song right before Ariel starts singing. Especially considering the effect that Regina used to take away their singing looked exactly like the shell magic thing.
Would have been great if she was in this episode, even if just at the wedding
