Regina and horses is a theme.  Her horse is a reference to Don Quixote.  Then she used a windmill to trigger fake memories for David.

Likewise the restless the unicorn it is said can only be brought to bay by innocents (generally-speaking virgins, quite often female). Like a unicorn Regina has a restless nature that only Henry has been able to calm. While attempts made by anyone else have all ended with them getting burned. Henry’s childhood innocence has calmed Regina’s spirit and his believing heart give her hope. Woe betide the rest of the family if that changes.

They seem to be dropping hints that that is indeed going to change. When Pan said to Emma, “You haven’t forgiven your parents and Henry hasn’t forgiven you” it sounded like he is going to try to sew discord between Emma and Henry. If so, it stands to reason he would also want to isolate Henry from Regina. It seems likely that will tie in with manipulating Henry to become the “savior of magic” (which will no doubt turn out to be something much darker) but I haven’t been able to devise any more specific speculations.

Curious isn’t it though that the image of the windmill is one that shows up for David as well as Regina through her mother. Could be a connection there. Consider that David has a short fuse like Regina and Snow and Regina both have similar if not identical peridot rings.  Perhaps we should entertain the possibility that David and Regina might have some blood ties. We don’t know anything about Cora’s parents aside from the fact that her father was a drunk. Ruth’s background remains a blank slate and all we know of David’s father is that apparently he was a poor shepherd who was desperate enough to take a deal from Rumple.

Haven’t been back to this topic for a while but a question/observation on Adam’s twitter feed intrigued me. A fan posted a photo of Regina wearing dreamcatcher jewelry and Adam had to break away to not reveal anything spoilery.  Very Interesting to quote Arte Johnson.  Here’s how the conversation played out:

@HeckL45 thnx. Lemme figure out best way to answer without spoilers.

@HeckL45 @BarbieShoesOUaT not sure the reveal is so grand. I'd say it's more of an overall thematic rather than a specific plot point

Adam also said that it wasn’t plot spoiler so much thematic between the two women of Emma and Regina, as dreamcatchers are big for both of them. I’ll refer everyone back to Storyteller’s observations about dreamcatcher jewelery in this thread.

Storyteller: I went ahead and fixed the tweets. 🙂

Sorry didn’t notice, probably screwed them up again. My technical skills are absent today.
