If Captain Killian Jones happens to open fire on a Navy ship that he doesn’t realise it being Captained by his long lost father, I will legit ugly cry.
It would sorta parallel Rumple and Bae; a father searching for his child and his son.

He’s definitely on the JR, you can tell by the yellow bit on the ship.
So was the Jolly Roger always a pirate ship? How did Hook come to have it?

Hook said his ship was crafted from enchanted wood. So, yes, I’d say it’s always been the fastest in all the realms.

So the ship was probably built in the EF and was either Liam’s to begin with and then passed to Hook OR Hook became a part of the JR crew at some point and rose through the ranks a la The Dread Pirate Roberts.

So now that we have the press release: what on earth do we make of this concept art? Hook is clearly a pirate at this point, though still has both hands. Is that the Navy coming after him? Did he betray the Navy in making a deal with PP?
It could be a situation like in the third PotC movie where pirates become outlaws and anyone caught participating in piracy gets hanged but since we know Hook’s alive in present day, he escapes.
