This is a really good one!!!! I’m putting this here because it does give out spoilers. Interesting stuff. Still can't figure out if they are confirming or dispelling Bae being Peter Pan.

May 7, 2013 at 4:22 am #191816HappyEndingsSpectatorCan someone post the transcript as I can’t access this website, plus most of the time I can’t understand or hear the people. Thank you very much!!!!! ❗
May 7, 2013 at 4:56 am #191820SlurpeezParticipantEstelle: And so did the shadow show up at Wendy’s window around the same time that Bae arrived?
Adam: Yes.
Eddy: Exactly—as Wendy said, the shadow showed up about two weeks ago. Just about the time Bae did. And we know he went to a land without magic, so clearly magic followed him for some reason
Estelle: It is an interesting twist on the Peter Pan story.
Adam: Well, you know the inspiration for [Baelfire and the shadow] was that we were both been huge fans of the Peter Pan, it’s one of our favorite shows, and when we created this show we always dreamed we could include the Peter Pan story within it, and when the rights and all that were worked out so we could, it became about: how do we weave it into our mythology, and that’s kind of what the conception of the Baelfire character was.
And this is really only the tip of the iceberg for us, there’s so much more we want to do.
Eddy: And, I think for us, what we like to do on the show is little Red Riding Hood is turns out to be the wolf. Things aren’t what you think they are. Even though they may have some of the iconic touchstones of the story.
We just assumed, Neverland is the world’s greatest place. There’s no adults, there’s magic, there’s mermaids, Peter Pan gets to be…however old he is for as long as he is.
And so for us, how do you show Neverland in a way no one has seen before that’s still within the spirit of the show?

Thanks for posting! Based on the comments below of the transcript (haven’t had a chance to listen yet) the fact that they paused on the age of Peter and then said “however old he is” makes me think they really wanted to say 14 but couldn't as that would clearly show it was Bae. Holding out hope for the theory to be right even though we probably won't get confirmation next week.

They spent a lot of time on Bae and what a tragic and heroic figure he is. I’ve seen people call him a coward but A&E flat out said he was brave. They also talked about how important that moment with the Darlings was for Bae. It was really the first time he could be a kid and relax.I do think he is meant to be the Peter Pan figure in the story, but definitely in reverse. He doesn't want to go to NL but does so to save Wendy. I also think Hook is not going to be a villain but his mentor there in NL because NL is B-A-D. I don't think he's having fun adventures there, but fighting for his life more or less.

I thought the same thing at first, but the more I listened, the more I started to realize that they never said he isn’t Peter Pan. What they said is “that there were so many guesses, he’s Peter Pan, he’s this……we are so excited we had a vision of him being an Oliver Twist like street kid who sees the famous window open and goes through this. Excited to see the audiences’ speculation and they are thrilled to finally reveal it.”
In my mind,, they are leading us to believe he isn’t without actually saying he isn’t. Yet further on, they say:
Estelle: It is an interesting twist on the Peter Pan story.
Adam: Well, you know the inspiration for [Baelfire and the shadow] was that we were both been huge fans of the Peter Pan, it’s one of our favorite shows, and when we created this show we always dreamed we could include the Peter Pan story within it, and when the rights and all that were worked out so we could, it became about: how do we weave it into our mythology, and that’s kind of what the conception of the Baelfire character was.

So, in my mind, they are confirming that Bae will in fact, end up being Peter Pan. They did after all, confirm that they based the whole Baelfire character on Peter Pan.
These guys can be so tricky and with this podcast especially, I find we really have to read between the lines.

I don’t think another character is going to be PP other than Bae, but that how Bae fills that role is not the traditional PP we know. He isn’t going to fear staying with Wendy in London–rather that is what he wanted. He doesn’t think NL is a great place full of adventure–he probably will hate it there, and want to leave only he is unable to do so for reasons we will find out. I also think he is not going to start off with an adversarial relationship to Hook, which is of course, the traditional PP does. Nealfirepan will not hate adults or fear growing up. He’s probably going to fear never having a real family and parents to love him more than growing up. Traditional Peter sort of wanted a mother, but not enough to stay in London with Wendy. Bae would jump at the chance to return–but for some reason when he does come back to the real world it is too late and he is on his own again. That’s why he is in America and becomes a thief.

I wholeheartedly agree. We are definitely going to see their spin on things. Funny how they brought up Red=Wolf as an example. Perhaps confirmation that the shadow is in fact Bae?
