I thought that this better place only revealed itself as Olympus to Hercules, since he was a demi-god who had to complete 12 labors. Once Hercules had defeated the Cerberus, he then got to join his dad on Mount Oympus. Maybe Meg got to go with him, because she’s Herc’s love interest now.
In the most under developed and silly love story in the Onciverse.
I don’t know…I think it’s just straight up Olympus. There’s a TVLine interview I think that came out before the season premiered that talked about Olympus and Heaven…? (I may be misremembering) but I think they’re just going with Olympus.

If that place is all good and shiny and happy, why is it so bad if Hook went there? cause Emma would rather die then be with him? why can’t she go there? why doesn’t anybody just kill themselves and go there?

I hope *twitch* that that’s the case, but I feel like we need to see someone else “move on to a better place” before we can say it’s definitely the case.
Part of me would rather the “better place” appear differently for each person, depending on their origin/beliefs. But on the other hand, it seems to be that everyone, no matter their origin/beliefs, ends up in the Underworld of Greek myth in particular, (which already doesn’t make sense), so it wouldn’t really make sense for the “better place” to be somewhere not also from Greek myth.
Basically, they’ve tried to mash up characters and specific cultures that shouldn’t be mashed with each other, and it’s become a hot mess.

http://tvline.com/2016/02/29/once-upon-a-time-season-5b-preview-underworld-emma-hook-hades/
TVLINE | What qualifies one to linger in the Underworld?
KITSIS | That is a question that we will answer pretty quickly.
HOROWITZ | Are you looking for a place to move, Matt…?
KITSIS | The Underworld is kind of a weigh station between two other worlds. Hades has a brother that’s up in Mount Olympus, and then there’s a place “downstairs” that’s even worse. This is kind of a domain where you’re there because you haven’t found closure yet.TVLINE | So if we don’t see, for example, Neal down there, it’s because he’s moved on to one of those two destinations?
KITSIS | That is correct. It must be because he moved on.
HOROWITZ | And that applies to pretty much anyone we don’t see down there. I will say this: It is our hope that in the premiere and certainly in the first couple episodes that the rules of who is there and who isn’t are clearly delineated, so the audience can understand who they’re seeing and not seeing and why. If not, they can find me on Twitter."I offended you with my opinion? Ha, you should hear the ones I keep to myself".

Depends of how they go with this, in catholic idea, suicide grants u a place in hell, not in heaven, yeah, they made Ice queen dying, but since she did the same as hook and only sacrifice herself to undo what she did wrong, in their minds is not suicide.
The problem with the name they gave it or even since they dare talking about those issues, is what they will do now, in my prespective Olympus a place of gods only the gods or in ouat case pure can enter, the problem is that they may redeem every villain and bad person on UW and they will simply go to olympus, whivh in my idea they dont deserve, yes they may be sorry now, but they commited crimes in the past, their hands have blood, it seems stupid that in the end just bc they said sorry they may go to a place where their victims may be, and somehow being rewarded with that.
In that sense, if we look at it, none of the SB according to this episode, dont have right to olympus, bc they all murdered someone or something( like pens, flowers, cups, etc). But since in OUAT they will have villains redeem and go to Olympus and simply be bff`s forever with their victims, yay for happy endings

My bet is that it’s Olympus in name only, much like the Underworld is the Greek Underworld in name only (it’s really more like Limbo with bits of Purgatory). So, it’s going to be home of the gods but now mortals can go there if they qualify.

Yes guys, this is how I took it too. It appeared like a white light, just as it did for Regina’s father, but then you could see Olympus in the background. It appeared for Hercules but not Henry Sr. It was for Hercules only. Meg went because plot. And similarly in the movie, she probably has the choice whether she wants to stay in Olympus with Herc or not. Olympus is not Heaven for everyone. That would be ridiculous and I would not like that. Because it did not appear to Henry Sr. and it appeared late after a few seconds for Herc, I think that made it more obvious that this was something special for Herc only.

No, read the above TV Line article.

The Underworld is the in-between Limbo. You can go “downstairs” (the worse place) or you can go “upstairs” (the Better place) and that’s Olympus. Olympus is their heaven, no matter what culture you’re from.

I will believe it when I see it confirmed on the show. If someone moves on, and Olympus is shown again, fair enough. I just think that’s dumb.
