Hello fellow Oncers,
The last episode to air was “Going Home” way back on December 15th, 2013. As you know, the 2nd half of the Season doesn’t start till March 9th, and as such it has been a rather long hiatus. Unfortunately, this long hiatus has resulted in further fueling shipwars, most infamously SwanFire vs. CaptainSwan. The spoiler that shall not be named definitely did not help this situation, and it’s really brought in the worst of us. It’s gotten to the point where it comes across that many of us act as if they only care about their beloved ship, and it’s resulted in some rather ugly personal attacks. When somebody even gets a death threat over an dumb shipping war, you know things are out of control. This is why MatthewPaul and I have decided that we should have a day of armistice, if you will, between the entire forum for 24 hours. Let us step aside from our differences and remember what it was like when we initially got into the show. This means no shipping talk whatsoever for one whole day. All shipping threads (not just SwanFire and CaptainSwan) will be locked, and no shipping talk will be allowed in the chatroom. The day we’re considering is Sunday, February 23rd. Since they normally don’t film on Sundays, there’s less of a chance of any shipping related spoilers getting out to tempt people. Let’s take this chance to mellow out and appreciate everything else Once Upon A Time has to offer.
The RULES
1) There will be a specifically designated thread for the “Love Day” where you may share non-shipping things from ONCE–videos, stories, pictures, funnies. Anything you want! So long as it has nothing to do with shipping.
2) You may also share NON-ONCE items: funny videos, plays games, trivia, ect.
3) If you are caught talking about shipping in the chatroom, you will be temporarily banned for 2 hours.
4) We’d really like it if everyone participated at least a little bit. Stop by the special thread and say “hi!” Share your favorite ONCE memory or crack!Video. Share a silly video of cats, if you want! But this will work best if everyone comes together as a fandom.
