What’s the deal with Rumple and Snow Queen? If it turns out he knew about her hopping through doors to the 80s and associating with Emma…I might need to find some tables to flip.
Their scene was brief, but they definitely already knew each other when they talked. Rumple was all “were you glad Emma didn’t remember you?” Nothing is said about how he knows and how much.

Given what we do know: 1980s, doors, JMo’s mention of a “curveball,” Emma flashback to her young days…yeah, I’m going to say that the Snow Queen had a hand in raising Emma
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"October 11, 2014 at 9:41 am #285060obisgirlParticipantInteresting.
October 11, 2014 at 10:10 am #285062RumplesGirlKeymasterOh, Matt. Question. There was a tweet that said “now we know how Elsa gets trapped” in the urn but the picture was really dark because it looked like Kristoff?

All magic comes with a price!

We don’t see how Elsa was trapped in the flashback, so it must be for a future episode. The Snow Queen claims that Anna was the one to trap Elsa in the urn, but that very well could be a lie as Elsa herself doubted it. The Snow Queen is clearly prejudice against normal folk, due to the trust issues from those who don’t understand her powers. So it’s likely she was just messing with Elsa to get her on her side. Also, Elsa doesn’t remember her first encounter with the Snow Queen that we see in this episode’s flashback, as her memory was messed with prior to her imprisonment within the urn.
October 11, 2014 at 11:34 pm #285176MatthewPaulModeratorMy panel recap, including teasers from the episode:
I had the fortune of attending the Once Upon a Time panel at New York Comic Con. The panel included a full length screening of this Sunday’s episode, “Rocky Road.” I will tease what to expect from the episode, along with recapping highlights from the Q&A session with Adam Horowitz, Eddy Kitsis, and Jennifer Morrison:
Plot teasers from “Rock Road” Once Upon a Time episode
Be careful from whom you accept free ice cream.
Get ready to finally meet Hans. He wants to prove to his teasing older brothers that, this time, he has a way of thwarting Elsa.
Elsa will explore her curiosity regarding how she got her powers.
An act of true love is put to the test.
Archie gives a stressful someone a voluntary session on the go.
A certain someone who has yet to appear on the parent show might be of some assistance in tracking down the true ice wall culprit.
We will find out exactly why Emma has been seemingly avoiding Hook.
Elizabeth Mitchell’s character implies that she also shares a past with one of the non-Frozen characters.
Teaser quotesNote these might not be word for word, as I’m only recounting from a single viewing.
“I’m sorry I got you mixed up in this.”
“Do what I tell you, for once.”
“Hey, Dairy Queen.”
“I was never fond of sheriffs, much.”
“If it’s one thing I excel at, it’s survival.”
A return of “it’s all about the tumblers.”
Highlights (and spoilers) from the OUAT Q&A with Adam Horowitz, Eddy Kitsis, and Jennifer Morrison:Adam and Eddy state that the biggest concern with both Disney and themselves regarding the Frozen characters was making sure to honor how they were depicted in the movie. The twist is not to reinvent them, but to see how they fit into the Once Upon A Time universe.
Next week’s episode features a date between Hook and Emma.
The story behind who wrote the book is something that will spread into the second half of the Season, as well.
August was confirmed as not the book’s author.
Jennifer Morrison notes that Emma will be fighting to prove that she and Regina can have a good friendship.
Rumple’s journey, this season, is described as “self-serving.”
Adam and Eddy mentioned how there’s a balance they have to keep track of between the main and secondary characters.
Be sure to watch this Sunday’s new episode of Once Upon a Time at 8/7 central on ABC, and come back here for our podcasts! -
