UPDATE: this has been rescheduled to June.
I’m really limited on what I can do with the current software running our forums. I’ll be switching it to a different system, which will integrate much better with the rest of our website.
Expect this change to start around the middle of June and it will result in forum downtime. I’m fairly confident this won’t mean forcing new accounts or losing old posts.
Making this change will allow me to do many new things in our forums:
I’ll wait mid-June to implement this, and it will mean the forums will be unusable while I make the transition.
The rest of the site (blog and podcast) will continue functioning normally during the transition.
Some new ones!
OUATinWL: Once Upon a time in Wonderland, the new series
I think sometimes people new to internet lingo don’t know this one
Ship (as a noun): the pairing of two individuals in a relationship (Snowing, Rumbelle, CaptainSwan, SwanFire)
Ship(as a verb): For example “I ship Rumbelle.” In other words, the ship (as a noun) you support.
These aren’t acronyms, but we use them quite a lot around here
Onciverse/Onceivere: The OUAT universe, the entire conceptual world of the show and the mythology in it.
Canon: a highly contentious term. In general you can interchange it with “established as law or as truth.” It means that OUAT has said “this is true to our show, it will not be changed on the show.” Snowing is canon: Snow and Charming are True Love and that’s not going to suddenly change. Often times it is thrown around before it is shown on the show (shipping wars, for example). Until A and E and show actually show it to us, it’s not canon.
Does SpoonQueen still exist?
While I’m reading, I’m finding CS a lot. It’s driving me crazy – what is “CS”?
Don't grow up. It's a trap.
CS = CaptainSwan (the paring of Hook and Emma)
SF = SwanFire (the pairing of Emma and Nealfire)
OUATinWL = Once Upon a Time in Wonderland
This is awesome! Thanks all! Keep updating!!
There should be a master post for all the short cut names since the thread is starting to get long.
