If ABC moved OUAT in Wonderland to a different time slot, what would work better?

Matt and I were discussing this the other day and he said he doesn’t think it could go anywhere because every night as some sort of high rated show. We did toss around the idea of Sundays at 9 and move Revenge (which is dying a slow death in the Sunday 9 pm slot) to another night where it might fair better. But of course TWD is coming back this Sunday and that’ll hurt whatever is on Sundays at 9. I do think WL might do better in the Sun9pm slot but it would be tricky.
Honestly I would have preferred it to air in between the two ONCE halves, a nice bridge but…that ‘s not happening obviously.

So overall, it looks like 5.7ish million live views and a 1.7 ratings share. We did gain .1 in the second half hour but that was after TBBT went off. The DVR numbers will probably jump quite a bit as people were watching TBBT or TVD. ABC may start looking to move it.

Still ABC had 2 HUGE bombs for new dramas this fall with Lucky 7 and Betrayal that are doing quite a bit worse than Wonderland for the slots they’re in, so that helps Wonderland’s chances. Nashville also has about the same ratings as that Wonderland number but in a more favorable timeslot, plus I think at this point ABC knows Nashville isn’t going to catch on, so they may also choose to axe that instead. I do worry about the budget of Wonderland making it harder to keep if it’s just skating along.
Here’s my theory. ABC moves it to Sunday at 8 when Once has its mid-season hiatus, which was the plan in the first place before changing it to a full order. Even if the ratings absolutely tank on Thursday, my guess is they shelve the show but then put it back on when Once hits hiatus.

I think ABC is looking for an option right now and that one sounds good. They may try to move it first, see if it can be in the lineup and not get hit. I *hate* that they put it in this slot. Did they honestly think it was going to do ok?
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"October 12, 2013 at 12:06 am #215297JosephineParticipantBut Nashville is in it’s second season and makes money off the music rights and sales, so that figures into ABC’s decisions, too.
I think it’s too early right now to give in the towel.

October 12, 2013 at 12:10 am #215298PheeParticipantGuess whatever they do with it will in part depend on what expectations they had for its ratings. If they didn’t have crazy high expectations, maybe it still did OK in their book?
I agree that it would have always been better as a mid-Once-season replacement.
October 12, 2013 at 8:12 am #215305kranenParticipantUgh. This is exactly what I was fearing in the chat last night.
ABC needs to move it to Sundays after ONCE. I guarantee if they did that, ratings would skyrocket.
October 12, 2013 at 9:00 am #215312RumplesGirlKeymasterFinal Thursday ratings. 5.82 million live views and a 1.7 ratings share. I expect Adam and Eddy are locked in an office with some ABC big wig discussing options.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"October 12, 2013 at 10:54 am #215330HappyEndingsSpectatorThe series premiere of Once Upon A Time in Wonderland did not get off to a good start at all. A 1.7 rating and 5.82 million viewers was all the premiere could manage in a tough timeslot in which CBS dominates. The ratings for the spinoff are far below the series record lows of its parent, and that is definitely not a positive sign. I’m expecting ABC to pull the plug on this one unless something drastic happens very quickly.
