Roses are red
Your ex fiancé’s dead
Rumple turned him into a flower
Why did he do it? What reason was there?
It’s because he had the power!
(To Rumple)
She looks at you with love in her eyes
At first you were convinced, it must be lies
You cast her out for fear it was true
Yet she found her way back to you
Now you see her, your heart does swell
When you gaze upon the beauty named Belle
All magic comes with a price!
Keeper of FelixRealize that I am totally
Under your spell. For
Me it’s only you.
Believe in hope and
Everlasting
Love.
Leave it to fate. We will see
Each other again.

My poetry skills are terrible, but this is such an amazing coincidence that I have to tell the story and contribute one verse to get it started. Maybe others with more talent can pick it up and add more verses. Just a few days before seeing this thread, I ran across an old album of Disney songs which included Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo from Cinderella. I had always been impressed with how lyrical Lana Parilla’s name is but as I listened to the song, it dawned on me that her name is in dactyl meter just like the song! (Here’s a link just in case there is anybody who doesn’t know it:

So, I started trying to think of lyrics using Lana’s name that could be set to the tune of Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo.
Here’s what I came up with:
Lana Parilla Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo
Lana Parilla,
she plays Regina.
She does it very well.
We see the Queen
there on our screen
and we fall under her spell.
Now maybe those of you with more talent than I can add some additional verses using the skills I’ve seen in the previous posts to this thread. Better yet, maybe somebody can sing it!
By the way this business of poetic meter fitting songs reminds me of the old observation that many of Emily Dickinson’s poems were written in common meter (alternating iambic tetrameter and iambic trimeter) which means they nicely match the rhythm of many popular songs. Try singing
“Because I would not stop for Death
he kindly stopped for me”
to the tune of the theme from Gilligan’s Island! Once you do, you can’t get it out of your head!
