First bit of rating news for 318 “Bleeding Through”

and demo friendly “Once Upon a Time” (#2: 3.7/ 6 at 8 p.m.), which is a lock for renewal for next season.

As it was Easter, the demo will probably be the same as last week’s Jolly Roger, but it should get a nice boost the next day. People were most likely with their families for Sunday night instead of watching. So, don’t worry if the original numbers are low. My prediction is a 1.9 like last week.

Ratings coming in for ONCE 318 “Bleeding Through”

    # of viewers: 5.70 million

    Demo: 1.7

This is a new series low, down .2 from last weeks.

It WAS Easter Sunday, so it was going to be down pretty much no matter what. I bet we gain .1 or .2 back tomorrow.

It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown & Charlie Brown All Stars (7-8pm – 3.5 million and 0.9/4 in AD18-49): During the 7pm hour, ABC’s annual broadcast of It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown & Charlie Brown All Stars was up over its year-ago airing (3/31/13) by 35% in Total Viewers (3.5 million vs. 2.6 million) and by 50% in Adults 18-49 (0.9/4 vs. 0.6/2).

    Once Upon A Time (8-9pm – 5.7 million and 1.7/5 in AD18-49): Spiking 89% over its lead-in 8pm, ABC’s Once Upon A Time (1.7/5) continued to win its hour in Adults 18-49,

beating CBS’ Amazing Race (1.6/5) to finish #1 against its regular competition for the 7th straight week.

Hallmark Hall of Fame: In My Dreams (9-11pm – 4.6 million and 1.0/3 in AD18-49): From 9-11pm, Hallmark Hall of Fame: In My Dreams made ABC the #2 most-watched network in its 2-hour time period to CBS, outdrawing NBC’s first-run dramas by 10% (4.6 million vs. 4.2 million for Believe/Crisis).

During the 10 o’clock hour, the ABC movie beat out NBC’s Crisis by nearly 1 million viewers (4.7 million vs. 3.8 million) and by 11% in Adults 18-49 (1.0/3 vs. 0.9/3).

Live +Next Day ratings are in for 318 “Bleeding Through”

We did not adjust up but stayed at the 1.7 we earned on Sunday night.

    http://www.spoilertv.com/2014/04/final-adjusted-tv-ratings-for-sunday_22.html

However, I’m sure Live+7 will see an increase of about 40-50%, meaning that when all is said and done this episode will probably receive a 2.7 or so.

This an updated Graph up to Live+Next Day for THE JOLLY ROGER. (It does not have 318 yet)

Sorry to ask again because I know I’ve asked before, but are these numbers “good”? How do we stand in general, versus other broadcasts during the same times slot?

Sorry to ask again because I know I’ve asked before, but are these numbers “good”? How do we stand in general, versus other broadcasts during the same times slot?

We were still the #1 broadcast episode of the night. Everything was down on Sunday because it was Easter and it’s now spring. During this time of year, people stay out later and tend to watch their shows the next day.

As for “good” that’s subjective. We did win the night overall, but the 1.7 is a series low, which isn’t good. There were a variety of factors, but the fact that we didn’t adjust up the next day is a bit bothersome. It means people aren’t bothering to watch until a few days from now. And advertisers don’t care about Live+3 and Live_+7. They care MORE about LIVE and Live+Next Day.

Advertisers pay for the show and if they think no one is watching then they will stop paying.

Now here’s the good news. S4 is a lock. We’re getting it, end of story. Any money ABC might loose in a S4, they would earn back (and then some) by selling the show for syndication.

So as far as what this means for S4, don’t worry. We’re fine on that front.

I would wait to see what next weeks numbers are like, though, before we start discussing what the audience perception of ONCE is.
