So what were your favorite and lease favorite moments of this weeks Once Upon a Time in Wonderland
[adrotate group="5"]"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"October 17, 2013 at 9:07 pm #216764RumplesGirlKeymasterI can’t put my finger on it but this episode fell very flat for me, sadly. But:
LIKES
–The Knave and Alice
–The Rabbit in his Hat
–Jafar
Dislikes
–The romance was way to fast. Like I was confused tword wise
–Too much going on at times
–Not as funny this week, outside of the Knave.

Jafar.
Red Queen talking to Bunny.Ā That’s the only time I really feel her menace.Ā She still comes off like a little girl playing dress up to me, but at least at the end when she kept the bottle, she sort of showed some bite.
Alice and Cyrus ‘s paper bird, falling in love scenes.
Dislike:
The Silvermist fairy.Ā I didn’t like the whole jealous fairy gets angry at the Knave because they used a namecheck for a Disney Fairy that I felt was not a good fit for the character in an “echo the original” sort of way. Ā Ā Ā Now these Disney canon characters aren’t as well known as the classic Peter Pan story characters, so a lot of people probably just felt it’s a random generic fairy sort of name.Ā I felt they did try to make her look like a water fairy with the dew drops on the lashes and things.Ā It’s just they didn’t get enough of the character’s flavor for me.
Disney Fairies Wiki:
Silvermist (also known as “Sil” to her friends) is a water-talent fairy with an East Asian appearance with fair skin, brown eyes, and black hair. She is delightfully offbeat and has an upbeat way of looking at everything.
The personality traits listed are friendly, calm, absentminded, quiet, gentle, silly
I mean I suppose those traits might fit with herĀ getting involved with the Knave, then him hurting her emotionally to the point she’d drop him in a lake knowing he couldn’t swim, because it is ONCE:WL and the characters do things they’d never do in their original versions. Ā Ā Ā I just think they could have picked a different character to make more sense personality wise.
I agree also that the episode fell flat in some ways for me.Ā I want to like this show, and I’ll hang out some hope that Jafar has an interesting agenda.

Jafar
The Knave- I hope once Wonderland finishes, the Knave is brought over to Once.
The Red Queen- I really liked her this episode. I loved how she stood up to Jafar.
The coffee horse line. The Knave gets the best lines.
Dislikes:
The love story felt a bit rushed but other than that, there wasn’t really anything I disliked.
All magic comes with a price!

– The knave mentioned that tumtum tree sounded like a meeting spot for care bares and Alice had no idea what that meant. š
– Alice and Cyrus had so many lovely scenes. The only thing I didn’t like was not having enough of them.Least-favorite scenes:
– Jafar’s creepy beetles give me the creeps. Ick."Thatās how you know youāve really got a home. When you leave it, thereās this feeling that you canāt shake. You just miss it." Neal Cassidy

I guess Cylice did fall in love pretty quickly. I don’t find them a super compelling couple yet, but I do get some serious warm and fuzzies for them, and Cyrus is so totally charming, I can see why Alice fell for him quickly.

True, it was rather quick from the audience’s perspective, but we may have only seen snippets of the early part of their relationship. Also, I can see why Alice fell for Cyrus’ charms too, since he seems so sincere and loving. Also, I can see why Cyrus would have fallen for Alice too, since she was the first woman in a long time to show interest in him, rather than his magic. Plus, Cyrus is probably lonely after an eternity alone and Alice seems like a lovely, genuine woman.

October 18, 2013 at 12:20 pm #216933opera13ParticipantI liked the clothes horse throwaway line.Ā Curious what one looks like.Ā Thought the origami was a charming addition.Ā Still being driven nuts by the queen, but I have confidence she’ll get more depth than a playing card and become a full fledged chess piece at some point.
Care Bears line was cute.Ā I kind of wonder, if the Knave was stuck in Storybrook in the same day for 28 years (not sure that he was) in the 80s…did he get stuck on a day when he fell asleep to the kiddie channel or something?Ā Care Bears isn’t that big a thing right now, and he doesn’t look likely to be hanging out with any of the children in Storybrook.Ā I can just imagine him forced to watch Care Bears, Rainbow Brite, and the Smurfs over and over and over for 28 years.
October 18, 2013 at 1:40 pm #216954kfchimeraParticipantOpera13: well it was supposed to be unhappy endings you know, what a cruel fate for a cynical guy to be shoved in front of the fluffiest of fluff.
I am curious though whether he’s a heartbreaker sort of guy because his heart was broken, or because of that he now has the depth to apologize for his previous treatment of the ladies like Silvermist who just happened to fall for his charm?Ā If it is Anastasia as in Cinderlla’s sister, what if it is the false relationship given to him by the curse that is troubling him?
I think they’d get into that more on ONCE original, but I am sort of fascinated about the people who were cursed.Ā It plays into Grace/Paige if they ever return to her and Hatter.Ā If you had this whole other life, and you felt it was real and you formed a bond with someone –what happens when you wake from the dream, yet still have these feelings?Ā Do you throw it away, does it break your heart?Ā With Katherine and David they both had someone else out there, that pulled them apart, but what if that was not the case? If you were otherwise unattached, well, we saw that Victor really had his eye on Ruby during the curse, and the writers /actors have suggested they were planning to explore it but contracts and new plot lines and all that happened.Ā That could have gotten into the theme as well.
I don’t know though, because WL is more centered around WL and the curse and the people there seems to belong to the parent show more.Ā I just wonder how they’ll get into Knave’s story to move around his curse experience.
