I’m usually quite boring, in that I ship whatever’s canon. There are a few exceptions though;

Korra x Asami – Legend of Korra

Merida x Elsa – just in general 😛

A couple of obscure one season wonders from a bunch of years ago that no one else probably even recognises…

Beth Turner and her vampire Mick St John from Moonlight, (I still cry that it got axed so quickly…especially when I go scrolling through lots of pics and gifs of them to find one to post and am reminded of the epic potential they had)…

Ben Krieg and Katie Hitchcock from seaQuest, (they were divorced, but you could tell they still cared for each other, and I’ll never be over the fact that neither returned for S2 so we didn’t get to see them continue to annoy each other and/or get back together)…

Now I have an urge to go read fanfic…

I meant to do this when it was on page one and now it’s exploded.   My ships are many. I might have an armada floating around.  Most of them literary.

Ron/Hermione — Harry Potter
From the time she walked into their compartment and insulted him, it was a clue these two were destined for each other.  The clincher for me was in CoS when Ron had to look at Hermione’s empty seat after she’d been petrified to work up the courage to ‘follow the spiders’, his greatest fear.  I was sunk.  My heart never wavered from there.

Lupin/Tonks — Harry Potter
My crackship that went canon.  I was told at the time it was impossible and ridiculed over it but I knew there was something when reading OotP. When Lupin gave his little speech in HBP to Tonks about being ‘too old, too poor’ I literally screamed, put the book down and may have said a few uncharacteristic swear words in excitement.  I still haven’t gotten over their passing.  Poor Teddy.

Lizzy/Darcy — Pride and Prejudice
I admit I disliked Darcy on the first reading.  Then I reread and fell head over heels.  I tend to reread this book every year .  Part of the reason I gave it a second shot was because I adored Bridget Jones’s Diary, a modern retelling of P&P (the movie doesn’t capture this but the book is fantastic at paralleling it).  How can you not love a man who says the most romantic quote in the history of literature: I cannot fix on the hour, or the spot, or the look, or the words, which laid the foundation. It is too long ago. I was in the middle before I knew that I had begun.  *sigh*

Anne/Frederick — Persuasion
Another Austen couple.  I love that they’re older and their romance is different than the others.  Both have some life experience and really shows the possibility of second chances.

Anne/Gilbert — Anne of Green Gables
It took three books for them to finally get together, but I, and millions of other young adolescent girls, knew it was TRUE LOVE at first meeting.  He called her ‘carrots’ and she lost her temper so bad she broke her slate over his head.  The 80’s movie is a brilliant adaptation of the book and worth watching.

Now on to tv.  Which I don’t have many of at all.

Shamy — The Big Bang Theory
Like RG, I adore these two.  Sheldon is …..just Sheldon.  I can’t describe him any other way.  He’s rude, he’s socially awkward, but sometimes the most romantic stuff spews out of his mouth.

Kim/Ron — Kim Possible
My cartoon entry.  I have a thing for red-headed Ron’s.  I adore this cartoon and glad Disney Channel is showing it sometimes on “Throw Back Thursdays”. This couple just makes me smile.  She’s the hero, he’s the sidekick but somehow it works.

Various pairings — Friends
I started out as a die-hard Ross/Rachel fan and ended up by the end of the series liking Monica/Chandler more.  The only paired I despised on this show was that brief fling of Joey/Rachel.  Ick…just no.  I was also glad they never put Phoebe and Joey together just to make it clean.  They were great as friends but would never be as lovers.

Monrosalee — Grimm
Monroe and Rosalie are the sweetest couple on tv.  I adore those two.  Two wesen, a blutbad and a fuchsbau, who married initially against family wishes. (They’ve since talked it out and it’s resolved….they talked Once show runners!)  I can’t wait to see what their kids end up turning out as.

I meant to post on this thread on Watcher’s birthday and got distracted.  So happy belated birthday…

Before I knew what a ship was OTP: Anne and Gilbert  of Anne of Green Gables.    They are still one of my favorite fictional couples.

Lilly and Marshall on How I Met Your Mother.  I never really cared too deeply about Ted, Robin or Barney and was like “whatever” beyond curiosity about the Mother–but I wanted Marshall and Lilly to work.

Chuck /Sarah on Chuck and Awesome/Ellie ….just loved those couples.

I liked Chloe/Oliver on Smallville and Desmond/Penny of Lost.

So most of those were pretty cannon, but I recall a few that were a bit less cut and dry:

Riker/Troi on Star Trek the New Generation– I can’t even remember how it ends up with them officially, but I’ll always remember them as Imzadi.

Daniel/Vala on Sg-1  Officially I’m not sure if they got together either, but they had some fun moments

My goofiest non-canon ship   is from Firefly–Jayne and River.   They definitely were not even portrayed as attracted to each other so I think that’s my first real shipping thing, where I sought out some  fanfiction and watched  song videos for a crack-ship  couple  that I had no expectations of the real story following that way.

And I know there must be more but those are the ones that stand out in my memory  right now.

in 2004, when Seed Of Chucky was released (RELEASED ON MY BIRTHDAY GUYS :P) A lot of us probably thought this ship was officially dead. I’m glad that Curse of Chucky’s surprise ending reveals that this ship is back on track and alive and well, and while i dont know how or why, atleast according to the creator, we’ll see why that is in the NEXT MOVIE 😀 Long Live The Dollfaced Duo!!! Long Live Chuck and & Tiff!!!!!

Just remembered that old show Half & Half. Mona & Spencer!!!!!!!!!! Sure it was an on/off friend/dating thing but still. I can’t even remember if they ended up together in the end. I couldn’t even find a proper pic of them together but still!!! I ship it! I still ship it!!!!

I was watching a few old TrueBlood clips and remembered my old OTP, Jesus & Lafayette (#BlackJesus #WitchJesus) 😀 sadly, my ship ended with the death of Jesus (which is really hilarious to say xD) but yeah, no, I miss Jesus, him teaching Lafayette about magic, and ofcourse….. Bacon VeggieBurgers 😛 *sigh*

Back when I was a fan of the Star Wars prequels, I loved two crack pairings: Obidala (Padmé Amidala and Obi-Wan Kenobi) and Sobiwan (Sabé & Obi-Wan). I viewed both differently. I loved my Obidala for the dark angst and inevitable not happily ever after they were likely to not have at all and I loved Sobiwan for the happy ever after.

I created fansites for both, both a year apart from each other. I wrote fanfiction, made fan art, maintained both fansites for as long as I had the passion for it. I still think of my first fansite, Obidala Sanctuary every March 30th when the site celebrates a birthday. And there’s still a lively community for both even today.

And then, Paire from Heroes. I fell in love with Peter Petrelli and Claire Bennet so quickly in season one and still loved them even after the big reveal that they were related. The actors, Milo and Hayden had this amazing on-screen chemistry and in real-life, during the filming of season 2, they started dating off screen.
