I also don’t really want too soapy a triangle, where characters ping pong and its dragged out forever. Only good thing about Katherine/MM/David and Neal/Tamara/Greg was that the false relationship was revealed fairly fast. For Neal/Emma of course, that didn’t mean they exactly picked up where they left off, so I see where there’s room for some to hope for her and another suitor, like Hook. I just don’t like those everyone hurts storylines, where the hero/heroine is kind of fickle and can’t make up his/her mind for years.
So here is my question–where HAVE they confirmed they intend to do a triangle? Or is that another thing that someone interpreted that was not actually said or confirmed either? They never seem to confirm anything other than simple facts, and I thought they walk the fine line of avoiding promising a romantic relationship between Emma and whoever, but didn’t rule anything out. So would they confirm a triangle ? That itself seems inconsistent with “don’t want to spoil”.

June 13, 2013 at 2:44 am #198220RumplesGirlKeymasterThere is nothing on her Twitter. She hasn’t tweeted anything except a link to her article. *sigh*
However, I can’t see Eddy saying that given how Adam is always very careful about the great SF/CS debate.
"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"June 13, 2013 at 3:02 am #198221HappyEndingsSpectatorThe only relationship I saw was the article about Season 3 being about Regina, and Regina and Hook are suppose to hook up nothing more then that.
Love this from Slurpeez108, I just read it that is a funny comment about Regina who else is she going to date 😆 😆
Slupreez108 As for Regina’s love-life, who else is she going to date except for Hook? She’s stuck on a boat with two men (Charming and Rumple) who are already spoken for and in committed loving relationships. The only viable candidate is the suave bachelor, Killian Jones, who right now is starting to heal from the loss over Milha. While I think Hook appreciates Emma and she’s helping him to get over his need for revenge, I think it’ll be a stepping stone for Hook and Regina to become romantically involved. Even Lana Parrilla has admitted she’d like to see Regina paired with Captain Hook. They two are both recovering villains. They just seem to have more in common, IMO. Both had difficult upbringings, both lost loved ones, and both have struggled for decades with a need for revenge. Now that both are acting honorably and being thrown together to fight for a common cause, I believe Hook and Regina could be endgame for one another.

Sneaky show creators are the sneakiest. 😉

Crack theory!
We assume that RH taught Snow how to be huntress, what if RH also taught Charming, but at different times. Like Charming learned how to sword fight from RH then decided to go back home and then days later Snow found RH and learned from him. Talk about fate! Also it would make Charming one of RH’s Merry Men perhaps which would be fun to see! This would be so fun! If they’re gonna show his backstory during those years, and they also want to keep the focus on less characters next season, re-using a character they’ve already introduced would be ideal, instead of making up a bunch of new, previously unseen randoms to only appear in one ep.
It would also mean they’d be expanding on RH’s story a bit, so they might expand it a bit more while they’re at it, and use him to tell Tamara’s backstory too, and the theories about them being related could prove true. Surely they’ll have to give us some backstory on her, and as I just said above in relation to Charming, they can keep the show more tightly knit if they re-use a previously seen character, instead of introducing us to more randoms while telling a backstory.
And if they tie RH into Snow flashbacks as well, then even better, because then they’ve been able to expand on three character’s backstories, without having to bring in three separate bunches of random newbies.

It all sounds interesting, but does that mean only the JR characters are core…….including Hook? Not Belle or Bae?
Adam has tweeted since this event that there were only certain characters they were asked about, so those are the questions they had to answer, and they had to give a lot of rushed answers. He specifically said that just because those other characters weren’t mentioned in reports from this event, that does not indicate that they won’t have a major role to play.

To the best of my knowledge, no triangle has been officially confirmed. It’s really just the fact that fans by and large ship Emma passionately with one of two people, and naturally K&H don’t wanna spoil and officially rule either option out, so instead they give hints as to what could potentially happen to keep the fans fired up about it all, and it’s snowballed so that a triangle is what everyone assumes we’ll see, because both camps wanna be in with a shot.
June 13, 2013 at 11:53 am #198246JosephineParticipantYeah, Eddy and Adam are at a point where they need people to tune in. The ratings need to rise. If they come out and say one section of fandom isn’t going to get their happy ending then they’ll be mad and give up on the show. Why should I watch if X isn’t going to be with Y!
It reminds me of the Harry Potter days and fandom split between Harry/Hermione and Ron/Hermione. There are still a lot of people who like to ignore the epilogue. As each book was published, JKR didn’t feed the shippers, but didn’t come right and deny anything, either. It was only after the books were published that she discussed it and mentioned that she’d left hints of Ron/Hermione throughout all the books. It all comes back to you see what you want to see. I saw the antagonism and bickering as a way for Ron and Hermione to let off stream because they were so young they had no other way to cope. Also, it’s just their way–my parents had that type of relationship and were married forty years. Others saw it as them not being compatible and not having the loving foundation that Harry/Hermione had. It’s all in perspective. What’s interesting in rereading the books is that Ron actually spent more alone time with Hermione through the years and Harry wasn’t always that friendly to Hermione all the time. Like I said, were all biased from life experiences and view things through emotional goggles.
Now that I’ve rambled on about Harry Potter, I’ll get back that Eddy and Adam are in the same position as JKR. They don’t want to confirm or deny anything. Not only will it alienate fans, it would reveal major plot points they wish to keep secret. I’m at the point that I’m ignoring anything shippy coming out about Emma. If you take out the shipping factor, most of the interviews give the same information-the five are going to Neverland to battle Peter Pan, Neal is alive in the Enchanted Forest, and Belle is helping protect and care for Storybrooke. They might add a detail here or there, but other than that we really haven’t learned anything more, just supposition.

Correct, they’ve never confirmed an outright triangle. They just tease the heck out of it. They make it seem like Emma’s on this boat with Hook and the two obviously have chemistry and they are obviously alike, so people assume it’s going to be traingle-y. I think Hook and Emma will grow close, becomes best friends. I just don’t think romance is the first item on the agenda.

The ratings do need to rise, but it’s worth noting that we ended our S2 with an overall ratings share of 3.8 and we were the 17th most watched TV show out of ALL network TV and ABC’s 3rd highest rated show (right behind Grey’s and Modern Family). So we’re not in any kind of real trouble. The new structure for S3 will help.
I want to see whatever romance play out, but I think there are more pressing matters.

From Entertainment Weekly:
http://insidetv.ew.com/2013/05/13/once-upon-a-time-season-finale-interview/HOROWITZ: At the end of season 2, we’ve placed our core group in a very difficult situation. Some of them are on the boat; some of them are behind in Storybrooke; some of them are in another land.
So he’s including both Belle and Neal when he says core group.
June 13, 2013 at 10:14 pm #198286HappyEndingsSpectatorOk, can someone please verify with the writers who the Core Group really is on twitter so we can stop this repeat question? ❓
To me is Snow, PC, Emma, Henry, Regina and Rumble
Regulars are Belle and Bae as there were writtern articles on both of them saying they are Regulars, like what Red and the Cricket are.
June 13, 2013 at 10:32 pm #198288RumplesGirlKeymasterAdam has said that the core group are the cast: all of them. Snow, PC, Emma, Henry, Regina, Rumple, Hook, Bae, and Belle. They are all important and family. They say this all time in interviews and in their statements on Twitter.

They are important but they are not Core, I never seen any article saying that Belle and Bae are core characters only Regulars if you can provide that link I would appreciate it other wise a tweet can be posted here to confirm who is what would be nice. 💡
