No, you’re right. Dead is dead. So….this! What if the Dark One dies before Rumple dies. That magic completely leaves him and he’s so close to death that he’s now human, and that’s when Snow saves him. No more Dark One. It would be…interesting.

That would work for me! 😀 But if they deny Mr.Gold his powers, or at least, magic, he is becoming the most fragile character of all in a world like that: a old lame man with nothing to defense himself from the great amount of enemies he has collected so to speak 😉 – during the centuries. Starting from Regina and following by….well, te whole town.
I don’t know, it would be like break his other leg, not sure what would happen afterwards… But I still have that feeling and your explanation of how it could happen, convinced me ^^

HappyEndings, I think that Rumple is still “one of their own.” He’s certainly, as we realize now, one of the family. 🙂 And what’s more tragic than the death of someone whom we have reason to believe may seriously be able to be redeemed?

I think Cora’s beyond redemption at this point. But maybe that’s just me.

Well,yes, they say one of their own will die… but Snow keeps saying that now they all are a family, so Rumpelstiltskin would perfectly be “one of their own” in that sense. And as they expose clearly that it is not a figure of speech -since at the beginning i thought it was a metaphor to say that Snow was becoming darker-, he is the only one who fits the description..

So would I actually, I’m just throwing out theories. I want him to stay the Dark One for a very long time but to turn it towards good like he said he would back in “A Desperate Soul”
I think having Belle by his side and fixing his relationship with Bae will do wonders for him.

I am also a shipper of the idea that rumple will after this Episode not be longer the Dark One.

Anyone think about what will happen to Rumple if he stops being the dark one? He starts aging… will it be gradual or will it be sudden like defrosting meat? (Sry I hold a science degree, I should explain dead objects that have been maintained, when the process stops their decrepidation is sped up). Maybe they will have to take him to Neverland til they can figure out how to manage his aging process?
