what the heck is there to watch for? Nothing.
It depends on what people like, I suppose.
Sure, Emma’s not there but Regina is.
Sure Rumbelle is gone, but a lot of people love Rumple on his own.
Sure CaptainSwan is no more, but the Hook fan base is fairly extensive and Colin has a very big fanbase.
Sure, the Savior is gone, but Henry is having his own adventure and there’s (maybe) a new Savior.
@AKA made a pretty comprehensive list of why people might actually watch, the curiosity factor aside. I’m not saying the show is going to rocket back to the 4.0 it had in 1×01 but I don’t think people are going to write off the show in large swaths. Just look at the small sample here at OncePodcast forums–no one has said that they are, hands down, not going to watch, except perhaps you.

The CS and Hook fanbase are the same thing and many refuse to watch after Sunday.

I’m very cautiously optimistic – it may not be good, but I’m giving it a chance. What confuses me the most is how there will be a sense of closure for Emma in the finale. With the way the show has been written how can she have her HEA if she’s separated from possibly Henry, her parents and Hook? I’m all for a reboot, but I don’t see how they can give us the closure they’ve promised. I hope I’m pleasantly surprised.

And yet there was a petition going around asking ABC for a Hook centric prequel staring Colin. Now maybe that’s a small portion of that selected fanbase but the idea that they’re totally going to drop the show doesn’t quite scan because they obviously like the idea of Colin/Hook, Emma or no. Especially if Hook’s story has something to do with saving Emma. Reading through comments on SpoilerTV and Twitter, yes many are saying they are done, but many others are saying they’ll give it a go if A and E does right by the ship by having the story be about the ship (ie: Emma’s in trouble, missing, pregnant and under a sleeping curse).

That’s an interesting thought. I wonder if they’d put both Belle and Emma under sleeping curses and have Rumple and Hook’s arc be about working together to save the women they love. I could see A&E not being able to pass up having centuries-long enemies working in tandem and developing a CaptainGold? friendship in parallel to Wicked Sisters.

Most CS fans I know are scared of what a S7 can do to CS. Destroy the last 6 seasons when they just got married, now they kill Emma or end CS. That would just be so cruel and horrible.
What are the chances that you think they’re not gonna destroy CS?

If the writers bother with continuity, then Regina would be the next Saviour. She has displayed use of light magic in the past, and there has been hints that she was not suited to learning dark magic, seeing as she was slow to do so. However, if this new guy is aged-up Henry, then unless Regina is frozen in time somehow then it would be strange to have a 60 year old fighting all the villains. Continuity would also allow Rumple to be the next Saviour, seeing as he was destined to be one originally. But again, just like Regina, an old hero would not make sense.
Which brings me to my next suggestion, that of Gideon being the next Saviour. The writers might say that he was born out of true love, and that he was named after a heroic character.
Baby Neal was also born out of true love, and his Celtic name means ”Champion”. (***could the new actor be aged-up baby Neal???***)
I think I might place cookies on the next Saviour being baby Neal. The new actor could be either adult Henry or adult Neal.
Keeper of Regina's bravery

Snowing are gone, Rumbelle is gone, OutlawQueen’s been gone, & CaptainSwan will be gone. With all ships sunk, that leaves room to focus storylines solely on the characters’ (both new & past) development.
Our list of characters so far confirmed are Regina, Rumple, & Hook….and if Bex is coming back, that will include Zelena, therefore the main list will be mainly anti-heroes/villains. With Andrew West coming aboard, I know we all speculate he’s playing Adult Henry, and with Jared’s exit, that seems all the more likely….however I can’t help but feel there’s a small chance he’s playing adult, Prince Neal, whom to me seems like the next best candidate for the role of Savior considering he’s born out of the same true love as his older sister, who may or may not be deceased at this point.
However with the Savior Mythology being as muddled as it has been this last season….what typically makes a Savior a Savior? What if the next season literally has no Savior this time, and that’s the purpose of Season 7…finding a new Savior? Maybe that’s why JMo would be appearing in the premiere, to send Adult Henry/Adult Prince Neal on his path to find the new Savior.

Snowing (Ginny & Josh are out)
Rumbelle (Emilie is out)
OutlawQueen (Sean’s been out)
CaptainSwan (JMo’s out)
We can call it however we want to, either way, it looks as if we’re heading back to Season 1 Format, where ship wars didn’t exist and character development was first and foremost. And frankly, I’m looking forward to that.
