I just came from an online Facebook chat session with Michael Coleman (Happy) and he said that Neverland is not going to be the sole focus of Season 3. The season is actually going to be set in London, Storybrooke, Neverland, and Fairy-Tale Land.
Let’s be cautious about taking this as factual. While I’m sure some of the cast may know somethings, I doubt a character as minor as Happy knows the lay of the land. I know SB, NL, and FTL will be in there. We may see London a few times, but I dont’ think it will be heavy.

Why would the creators tell some actor who plays a very minor recurring character major plans for plot developments so far in advance? That doesn’t make any sense.

We saw them happy during their interrupted dates….that is why I think that was the point of them. I think we will eventually see more of their relationship develop in season 3.
We’ll see….. the burger date at least lasted a couple of minutes; the picnic was pathetic at maybe 1 second, lol. I did enjoy the entire scene, though: the way Belle came to his defense after those Charmings accused him of murder (good job, with no proof at all), the way she looked at him as he patted Pongo, the way he talked to her as if she was the only one in the room.
I hope you’re right about S3, but I do honestly think the interrupted dates or moments in S2 were designed to frustrate fans and Rumbelle.
I really doubt they being vindictive and seeking to frustrate us on purpose. Writing doesn’t work that way. Why antagonize your audience intentionally? They are simply telling the story the way they want to tell it. In film and tv, you have a very short time to get a message across.
Writing isn’t supposed to work that way, but some writers are better than others. I guess I know that they didn’t do it on purpose to tick fans off, but I’m not going to pretend that I think they did a great job with Rumbelle this year. They gave us some wonderful scenes – beautiful and tragic and glorious, but I think it’s pretty terrible to tell us that their happy times were off-screen. Sorry, tv is a visual medium – don’t tell us, show us. I can’t pretend to love that they showed us all their downs and we didn’t get to see some important things like Gold bringing Belle to his/their house, the first time he saw her in a nighty, etc… A few scenes here or there would have been wonderful; I’m not asking for the entire show to be Rumbelle. There’s a blog out there that shows the amount of minutes Rumbelle got all season – and it was rather paltry number. There must be a better balance.
I can love Rumbelle, love most of the scenes we got and still think the writers should have done a better job. Oh well, S2 is over- I guess we’ll have to wait and see what they intend for S3.
June 10, 2013 at 12:34 am #197763betsypaige24ParticipantHmm, I wish I had confidence in Adam and Eddy. Adam tweeted responses to fans concerned about Rumbelle separation (these tweeters suggested that other couples should be separated as well) by saying that Snowing, Nea/Emma have also been separated.
I’ll leave the latter out, but while it’s true about Snowing, they were married at the time of the curse – and obviously at the time Snow and Emma went to present day FTL. Rumbelle is not only not married, but they do they really have a relationship? At times it seems they have a series of moments and certainly feelings, but they’ve been separated for 99% of the time since Skin Deep. Comparing them to an established couple like Snowing is wrong; how on earth can they develop and grow when they are constantly apart?
Adam and Eddy don’t get this at ALL.
June 10, 2013 at 12:51 am #197767RumplesGirlKeymasterIt depends on how you define a relationship. What’s different with those characters and real life is that TRUE LOVE is an actual tangible thing there. It can be proven, in our reality it’s a feeling or an assumption but there is no *proof*. Belle and Rumple don’t need to go on dates and hold hands and do the “relationship” thing because they know they’re true love. Separating them isn’t going to destroy that, they just as established as Snowing, and it has nothing to do with marriage, but with their feelings toward one another. What the separation will do is make Belle a stronger character, make her something other than just Rumple’s girlfriend. And then they come back together and we’ll see them develop. Both Rumple and Belle have to grow as individuals too, not just as a couple.

You kind of agreed RG with the places maybe we get to see that Wendy told her parents or maybe we get other characters from London (Mary Poppins) who knows after all SB is shut down so most of this is going to be film on the the green screen right ❓
June 10, 2013 at 1:07 am #197769RumplesGirlKeymasterSB is not shut down. Adam said so on Twitter, they are still going to be using the town very heavily. It’s shut down for the summer, but it’s going to be re-opened for filming in July.

That’s a very good point……..oh and I agree they don’t need to date. I mean, even in SD, they knew each other pretty intimately (because they talked).
I think what they have is certainly at least as strong as Snowing and I think that being apart only strengthens them and their love. I guess if I want to be fair, we didn’t see Snowing do the dating thing either. They were attracted to each other, figured out they loved each other – then they were married.
Belle should always have been more than just Gold’s GF, but as I posted before, I do give them something of a a pass for S2 given that making Em a regular entailed a LOT of adjusting of Gold’s arc – and of course there were some things they couldn’t change.
It will certainly allow Belle to interact more with others, which is needed,. I mean, Archie didn’t thank her for saving his life – and we should have gotten more GrumpBelle. That will probably be a key relationship for her – maybe even Granny. I really hope that the Charmings will look at Belle like a real human being and not an outsider because she loves the man they…….don’t love, shall we say. I suspect she will gain a lot of respect from those on the JR (not Gold, obviously, who has always respected her) because hey, she’s obviously saving the town and caring for the people.
I suspect Gold will be in a better place when he returns, possibly feeling somewhat better about himself – and he will be SO proud of Belle (and totally NOT surprised at what she will have accomplished).
I have a feeling that Pan will be his undoing, but possibly in a good way……and if he does lose some of his powers/magic/whatever, it would be interesting to see the ramifications internally. How would he react to being ” just a man” again. Maybe he’ll lose his immortality? It could be interesting……Who knows? Every time I’ve speculated on something that makes sense, it never happens, lol.
I truly look forward to a strong and vibrant Belle, the strong woman who remains strong despite Hook and Regina’s actions…… I suspect she won’t take crap from anyone anymore and she’ll continue to defend her man like she did in the Cricket Game.
To me, Rumbelle is truly exceptional; they could be one of the best tv couples ever if given a shot. I hope you’re right and they will develop apart and together……..I really think a storyline with them trying to forge a relationship with Bae could be incredibly emotional. I so want this – give me their romance and a Bae storyline and I’m happy.
I really loved your points; thanks !! I have to say, though, that no Rumbelle for about 11 episodes is going to kill me.

Yep, they are doing more studio shooting, but still shooting outside in Steveston. Gold’s shop is done for, however….that’s moving to a studio. I’ll be in Vancouver for a couple of days in August prior to a cruise; I want to meet Bobby so much, lol. I’d love to meet Emilie, but the odds on meeting both in that short time are almost nil.

When did he say that? I thought there was an article stating they are finish in SB.
June 10, 2013 at 1:28 am #197772HappyEndingsSpectatorAccording to the Director’s Guild of BC Production List, Once Upon a Time season three will only shoot for seven months!
That’s a whole three months without our favourite cast members in Vancouver. So why the change in filming schedule for the hit ABC TV show?
