According to the Director’s Guild of BC Production List, Once Upon a Time season three will only shoot for seven months!
That’s a whole three months without our favourite cast members in Vancouver. So why the change in filming schedule for the hit ABC TV show?
This is pure speculation. Adam and Eddy are the ones I’d listen to about news like this and they’ve tweeted and said at the last panel that SB is still a major place for the plot of S3.
It’s also wrong….. The guy at Van City initially said they’d be shooting from July through January, but he got a wrong report. The shooting schedule is still July through April…..
Thanks for the Jane interview! She is such a troll, lol……..Of course Gold is coming back and yeah, of course Rumbelle will have scenes together……… we hope, lol. I have no doubt at this point that we will get significant Belle scenes. SB is still going to be the home base going forward, so it has to remain viable. Remember what Em said a week or so ago: Belle will be devastated about his absence when the show returns. “But also she’ll gain her strength back and she’ll have to if she’s going to protect an entire town.”
Belle has a big job to do and it’s nothing to take lightly; she doesn’t just have to protect the town, but care for it.
She loves Belle, that seemed clear from this. I recall that when someone asked her to describe Emilie on one word, she said “talented”. That is a huge compliment from a writer, who depends on actors to breathe life into their words. She also said in a radio show interview, talking about the chipped cup smashing scene, that you give your best actors the meatiest material because you want them to do what they are born to do: act. I suspect jane really likes writing for Belle.

June 10, 2013 at 4:32 am #197791HappyEndingsSpectatorSo from July through April that is 10 months right but don’t you have to take out the Holidays, last year didn’t they take Dec off pretty much the whole month and I can’t remember the other month that we hardly saw Once.
June 10, 2013 at 4:48 am #197794lostwithmeParticipantThey only had two weeks off in December-Jan.

If you click the headline in the link, you will see that there is more to the blurb:

Well, fear not folks. The Director’s Guild Production List is inaccurate. And trust me, I got it from a very reliable source that they’re filming until early April 2014. As my source tells me, it would be physically impossible for them to film 22 episodes in seven months.
My thoughts when it was pointed out to me that they were three months short was that it was because they were going to be studio based and didn’t need to spend days prepping a location then a day filming and a day cleaning up. That would have saved some time, but thinking about it now. It wouldn’t save that much time.

While I was reading all the posts about the dismay over the lack of rumple/belle romance quiet time, I suddenly had a flash of Rumple and Belle both lounging in the living room in bathrobes, and while he is painting her toenails ……
comes bursting through their front door demanding . 😆 😆 😆

He also tweeted several time saying they will continue filming in Steveston. One guy who said Gold’s shop is up for lease said he got confirmation that they’re moving the front room of the shop into the studio. I guess they’re doing that so so many spoilers won’t get out, and it’s probably cheaper.https://twitter.com/BastardSonVan
Yeah, Gold’s shop was the only permanent set in town, wasn’t it? All the other buildings would get dressed and undressed as needed, but Gold’s shop was set up 24/7, (which makes sense, given how much stuff is in there), which means they had to actually pay rent on that building. Moving it to a soundstage is by far a cheaper option. Then they’ll only have to change the signage and set up the front window for exterior shots, like they already do with every other set in Steveston.

I’m thrilled that they want to focus more on the emotional relations of the characters. I am looking forward to seeing how the 6 characters on the ship work together. I CANNOT wait to see Belle in charge of Storybrooke! I am bouncing off the walls over the potential of that. And, of course, Belle and Rumple will be together again in the long run- they are true love.
June 10, 2013 at 5:36 pm #197819DemiletoParticipantLast four weeks forums was extremely slow with new discussion, then a few new spoilers come from a festival panel and the forum talk skyrocket just the day before I go to vacation on Las Vegas, when I don’t get to follow the forum just as regularly? Yeah, thanks, A & E! 😆
Jokes aside, loved all the new information we got. I’m particularly curious about how A & E really worded their comment about seeing more of Charming’s backstory – Wetpaint’s live tweet said that they’d “finally” explore that, which is odd because we’ve been seeing that since season 1. It’s like there’s some big bombshell to be revealed about him that we don’t know yet, and only now in season 3 could they do it, and yet every single article more detailed written toned that down a bit, as if it was just same business as usual. What gives, then?
June 10, 2013 at 5:53 pm #197821RumplesGirlKeymasterI feel like the only Charming backstory they could do isn’t really about Charming but his father–we don’t know anything about him. We thought all this time that he was a farmer, but what if he’s more? Could Charming’s father be connected to the NL myth at all?

That’s how I feel as well, I can’t see Charming being anything more than a random nobody prior to Rumple getting him to double for his brother. Maybe Charming is a descendant from Peter Pan’s brother? Barrie did originally intended to give Peter one, but ended up scrapping him completely: http://neverpedia.com/pan/Michael_Pan
June 10, 2013 at 7:25 pm #197827kfchimeraParticipantHm, some big mythological payoff for who Charming’s daddy is, could be really interesting.
After all, it does kind of make sense that there was something special about James and David to attract the Dark One to deal with them, as opposed to all the other poor farmer peasants out there, when trying to get a son for a king. Besides, “true love” between the parents of course.
