Swearing is just another part of language IMO. Yes it can be used in truly offensive ways, but it can also be used in an acceptable context, and by adults, and I don’t see the big deal. If something bad happens in my life, “Oh no” may well not be sufficient to properly express my frustration, but a hearty F-bomb will do the job quite nicely and make me feel better. My friends and I use the B-word as a term of endearment towards each other. We know the context it’s being used in, and it’s not offensive. If it’s used in a derogatory way towards someone, that’s a different story, but there are plenty of ways in which that word is perfectly acceptable IMO. I have friends who don’t swear, people who say “heck” instead of “hell”, or even, “Oh my gosh,” instead of “Oh my God,” and that’s fine. I’m not gonna make people swear if they don’t want to, and if I’m speaking directly to them, I won’t swear either. But swearing in general is just words I use as a form of expression.

It’s a quick efficient way to let go of stress and a natural instinct. I usually don’t swear, myself, but it occasionally pops out. I don’t mind as long as it isn’t every other word.
If children are watching Ouat, I think their parents have much more to explain about than an occasional cuss word. This is a show of deep issues that contains violence and mature themes. I would be much more worried about a young person seeing a heart ripped from someone’s chest or a person putting children’s lives in danger.

That isn’t true I know a lot of people who hurt themselves and don’t swear that is just an excuse if you get in a habit of not swearing that wouldn’t be the 1st thing out of your mouth.
August 8, 2013 at 3:20 pm #203693PriceofMagicParticipantIt was proven on one of those science shows.
They had 2 groups of people sticking their hand in icy water. One group was allowed to swear, the other group wasn’t. It was found that the people in the group that were allowed to swear were able to keep their hands in the icy water for longer than the people who weren’t allowed to swear.
Normally though when you do hurt yourself, something comes out of your mouth. It might not necessarily be a swear but you don’t just sit in silence going “fiddle dee dee, I just hurt myself”, there is some sort of reaction.

I don’t think the scene really adds anything. We already knew from the previous episode or in that episode that Neal had a connection to Hook because he recognized him.

I’d love their father-son dynamic to be contrasted with Rumple going full-on dark one to save Henry. It’d make for some incredible family drama.

August 9, 2013 at 1:04 pm #203908RumplesGirlKeymasterI wanna know who is walking around FTL of the past and potentially SB without their heart thanks to Cora and Regina. Seriously, between the two of them, is there anyone who still HAS their heart apart from the main characters?
Did Jefferson say “no room” in order to travel with his hat? What on earth does that mean??
Were all those hearts crushed?
*ps: insert beating heart flash card. I laughed out loud*
