Based on the first six weeks of the current television season (though Sunday, Nov. 2), ABC is the most social broadcast network with 5.3 tweets in primetime, according to data from Nielsen Social. Comparably, this is an increase of 68 percent from the year-ago period. In the distant No. 2 spot overall is NBC at 2.0 million tweets, which is up by 30 percent, followed by 1.1 million for Fox (-62 percent) and 1.0 million for CBS (-12 percent).
The average results for The CW were not presented, and the decline for Fox is a result of plummeting traditional rating results in primetime.
By series, ABC’s “Scandal” is the season’s most social broadcast show with an average of 346, 609 tweets. Second is ABC’s “How to Get Away With Murder” with 142,406 tweets. And occupying the remainder of the Top 10 are “Supernatural” on The CW (118,838), “Once Upon a Time” on ABC (94,247), “Grey’s Anatomy” on ABC (92,077), “Dancing With the Stars” on ABC (80,166), “The Vampire Diaries” on The CW (70,425), NBC’s “The Voice” (64,905), NBC’s “Saturday Night Live” (51,832) and “Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.” on ABC (42,765).

Thanks to savvy (and quick) thinking by the show’s producers, Once was able to put together a Frozen-themed story line less than a year after the hit Disney movie opened in theaters. The result: Ratings this fall are up 13 percent in the under-50 demo. ABC’s Scandal has also defied gravity, jumping 8 percent in the demo this fall even after (or maybe because of) a move to 9 p.m. Thursday.

ABC, meanwhile, was at typical overnight household levels care of veteran “America’s Funniest Home Videos” (#3: 3.6/ 6), “Once Upon a Time” (#4: 4.3/ 6), “Resurrection” (#3: 3.2/ 5) and “Revenge” (#3: 3.8/ 6). While “Once Upon a Time” will resonate in the key young adult demos and “Revenge” remains an improvement over failed year-ago Sunday 10 p.m. time period occupant “Betrayal,” “Resurrection,” unfortunately, is unlikely to survive past this sophomore season. And if ABC does officially conclude it, let’s hope it does so by giving us answers to all the mysteries.

"He was a lot of things to me" "The only conclusion was love"November 10, 2014 at 5:59 pm #289704MatthewPaulModeratorThe ratings for this Sunday’s two hour long episode will be interesting, as the 2nd half of the episode will be up against ratings juggernaut The Walking Dead. Like the Season 3 finale, I expect we will be getting an average rating that accounts for both parts together, rather than having a separate rating for each half. Still, it will be interesting to see how The Walking Dead effects things, especially when half hour ratings do still get reported in certain places. On the other hand, the fact that it’s a special two hour long episode might still see a bit of a ratings boost regardless.

I think we’ll see a slight drop in ratings for the second hour, but not by much. TWD will take some eyeballs but not as many as we might think. People might be more inclined to just watch two hours of ONCE and then DVR TWD so that one story isn’t interrupted halfway through.

Slight increase in overall viewership, and steady in demo. Very nice numbers for the halfway point of a season.

November 17, 2014 at 9:33 am #290428RumplesGirlKeymasterFirst bit of ratings news for episode 408 “Smash the Mirror” which was a two hour program.
On ABC, sophomore drama “Resurrection” was pre-empted by two hours of “Once Upon a Time,” which scored a 4.1/ 6 from 8-10 p.m. Comparably, the 9-10 p.m. portion of the fantasy drama (4.0/ 6) built from the 3.2/ 5 for “Resurrection” one week earlier by 25 percent (and the two-hours should translate into about a 2.5 rating in adults 18-49). Tired “Revenge,” meanwhile, was flat from last week at a 3.8/ 6 at 10 p.m. (#3), which was 52 percent above failed year-ago occupant “Betrayal” (2.5/ 4 on 11/17/13).
Doesn’t look like we fell that much. The demos should be up in about an hour.
