First bit of ratings news coming in for episode 401 “A Tale of Two Sisters”

That led into a 5.5/ 8 (#3) for the fourth season-premiere of “Once Upon a Time” at 8 p.m., which was six percent above the 5.2/ 8 on the year-ago evening (which translated into 8.52 million viewers and a 2.6/ 7 in the demo, based on the Live + Same Day data).

So we’re actually up from last year’s premiere! It was expected (with all the new Frozen viewers), but I think we had a nice jump up from the few times we dipped into the 1.0s

Keeper of Thor’s Hammer, Will Scarlet’s Genie Bottle, Emma’s Gun, Emma and Henry’s Moment at the Castle, Cora, and the infamous Family Tree!

Some early predictions are putting our demo in the high two,’s with a possibility of getting into a low 3.

That’s the highest we’ve gotten in a long time. Keep in mind, though, that will begin to fall as the season progresses

WOW. I didn’t expect ratings THAT high. I expected a 2.8 and 8.5 million viewers, so to see us jump almost three million viewers and a full point in the demo is crazy (for our show, at least).

Some things to point out….our ratings were great and we beat our direct competition, Madame Secretary. However, the Simpsons season premiere had a higher demo (3.9).

Good news! High fives all around Oncers! I thought Once was at its best last night, they did the Frozen characters justice enough to draw they new viewers in 🙂 Anyone care to join me in a celebratory dance? 😛

Based on reactions I’m reading around the web, reviews are mixed. The Frozen aspect seemed to delight newbies, but the oldies felt like the core characters were not given enough screen time.

I’ll repeat what I said above: we will fall. That is pretty inevitable. It just depends on how hard and how fast.
