Something to add to what RG said. You also have to remember that boycotting the show only effects ratings if you are a Nielsen household with a Nielsen box. Only their viewership is what is being used to calculate the ratings, and Nielsen membership is very few and far between. Nielsen chooses these households at random to each represent the viewing habits of a larger area. How many Nielsen members are aware of this apparent boycott movement? Not many, if at all.
Excellent point. So in order for this boycott to be effective, the following would need to happen 1) information about boycott put out to the masses 2) people who agree to boycott actually following through 3) Those people who followed through having Nielsen boxes In other words, this boycott isn’t a factor in trying to understand the ratings.
Got it.
I didn’t think that the reason why the ratings were low. I’m just happy we finally got a Robin Hood backstory. It had been a long-time coming.

if you were hired by ABC today and told to do whatever it takes to bring ONCE’s rating’s up what would you do? You can change a current a storyline ,add or kill a character, change publicity tactics, whatever you need to do free rein
Also side note according to the promo for next week’s episode it seems like a lot of SQ bait which is a big fan favorite do I think we could see a rating boost maybe 1.7-1.8?

Fun question.
One thing I would do is have an arc split over the two halves so that the characters would actually get time to react and process emotions. I’d have Robin actually make a decision and stick to it, in this case it would be with Regina so the OQ drama can be put to bed once and for all. I’d bring back Neal to continue his storyline with Rumple and Henry. I’d get RumBelle back together and actually show them together and working through their issues. I’d give Belle actual screentime. I’d get rid of Zelena. I’d stop the Charmings’ selfish streak and I’d give Regina her sass back when she’s with Robin.
Publicity wise, if I could’ve done the Frozen arc publicity photos I would’ve had the cast in winter gear because that was such an obvious thing to do and abc blew it.
I’d concentrate on providing a decent story and maintaining the audience there is with the hope that word of mouth would bring back the audience that has been lost.
All magic comes with a price!

That question won’t led to anything good. At all.

-Fill in all the plotholes
-Deal with the continuity errors
-Bring in Morgana, Merlin and Arthur.
-Better CGI
-Have a better man than Robin of ***** for Regina (pardon my language).
-Have Regina apologize to everyone for what she has done…with genuine remorse.
-Have Regina put the hearts back in the people they belong to (if these people are still alive).
-Have Regina admit to killing Greg’s father, and Graham. Also have her admit to sexually abusing Graham or whatever that was.
Keeper of Regina's bravery

Open a time portal, go back to the end of 3A, and have a do-over.
One of the major things wrong with the show is how PLOT-tastic it became, instead of being about the actual characters. People tune into a show week after week because they care about and become attached to the characters. Without that connection, why should viewers give a crap what PLOT the characters get thrust into? And why should viewers give a crap about what’s happening as part of any given PLOT if the events aren’t going to resonate with the characters in any lasting way to make them grow? If I think back to some things that happened in NL, like the scenes between Emma and Snow for example, that stuff was wonderful in the moment, but looking back now I wonder why I even cared because it’s not like they kept digging into the guts of that relationship so we could see it grow and change in an organic way to get to where they are now. Whatever’s happening now, I know it won’t matter come next half season, because the writers will have just hit reset and moved onto the next PLOT. So what’s the point in viewers being invested enough to tune in on a regular basis? And I don’t know how they could rectify things by picking up from here on in and focusing on the characters more in a believable way, when so many moments and opportunities for character development have been and gone.
So, yeah, time portal and do-over seems like the only workable option IMO.
April 20, 2015 at 11:57 am #302172MatthewPaulModeratorWe stayed flat for last night’s episode at a 1.6 demo and 5.12 million viewers.
April 20, 2015 at 4:36 pm #302245nonnieParticipantOnce Upon A Time (8-9pm – 5.1 million and 1.6/5 in AD18-49): Building on its lead-in at 8pm, ABC’s Once Upon A Time ranked #1 against its regular competition in its slot for its 7th consecutive original telecast in Adults 18-49 (1.6/5). The ABC drama was steady week to week in Adults 18-49.

.April 20, 2015 at 6:54 pm #302262RumplesGirlKeymasterSo staying the same basically means that the GA didn’t necessarily hate or Robin/Zelena story OR that they didn’t care enough to stop watching. But that might be our floor for the season.

As I said before, the big drops kinda stop this far into the Season, because this is the point where the majority of the viewers are clearly the dedicated ones. Why drop now when there’s only a few more weeks to get through? I agree, a 1.6 might be our floor. Also, for being up against an awards show, it’s not bad that we stayed flat, but that could tie into what I just mentioned.
