Watching the finale last night, I started to remember all the old ouat theories I’ve had this past season.

When Prince met Rumpelstiltskin in the endless forest, I thought of this old theory I had after watching The Shepherd:

Prince Charming found out the location of Snow White’s coffin in the pilot from Rumple because the Wicked Queen sure isn’t going to tell him. Or if the Wicked Queen did tell him, it was because she didn’t know the curse could be broken with a kiss.

    — from my review of ‘The Shepherd’

…which was kind of true in the finale, except I didn’t think that Rumpel would enchant his Prince Charming’s mother’s ring to act as a magical ‘GPS’ to find Snow White.

Anyone else had theories from earlier this season that came true in the finale?

This quote ties with what Rumpel says about love “Love is the most powerful magic of all.” and “If you can bottle love, you can do anything.”
I believe that whatever Rumpel wants, whatever his agenda, he needs great power for it. Yes, we learn in this episode that Rumpel is “the most powerful man in the world”, but apparently not powerful enough to do what he wants to do.
Daniel asked in the podcast (I think it was him) why he needed a love potion. That potion with the hairs is NOT a love potion! It’s bottled love! Pure power!
I think Rumpel did this whole thing (and for this theory I’m saying he wanted the dark curse to happen) so that he’d have a major happy ending and with it could somehow channel all true love that comes with it, thus harnessing power until he has enough for whatever his objective is.

    – from “I am invested in your future.” Heart of Darkness

Ok, so the rest isn’t really right, but he truly wanted the bottled love, because he needed greater power for something.

I was so wrong on so many levels about the finale. I got NOTHING right. 😆

Early on, I thought that each person in Storybrooke would turn out to be the counterpart of someone other than the character he or she resembled from fairy tale land. Of course, this became less and less likely as the season progressed, but I still thought it might explain why David’s behaviour was so different from James’. The finale showed that idea to be wrong (and also my alternate explanation, that David was a third identical brother).

I think I had one small flicker of brilliance in a sea of guesses: I ‘d predicted that we would learn Gold has the love potion in SB. Oh, and that Jefferson would meet Belle in the mental ward. *sigh* And I was just so sure August would turn out to be Ariel.
