If it were up to me, he wouldn’t get his son back at all. Not all things needs to end with ‘And they lived happily ever after. Will he find him- Yes, I think so(especially if his son is Neal) but he wont have him back.
Baelfire wont forgive him and, just a guess, Rumple will end up being ‘ripped apart’ (the Rumplestiltzkin fairytale ending) by his grief.
I like this idea! It’s very likely too, because obviously Bae won’t be impressed with his dad, especially that if he comes back to Storybrooke, he will see that EVERYONE has something against Gold (when he was a boy he might have seen glimpses of how evil his dad could be but now he will finally see the whole picture).
And Rumplestiltskin, who put SO MUCH into that curse and took enormous measures to manipulate people, he will see that despite all that ‘effort’, he still cannot have his son and that might have huge impact on him. He was already a bit mental back in FTL so who knows, he might return to that state?
So we pretty much all agree that the reunion will not be happy, but really interesting. I don’t think that Bealfire wants to talk with his father at all. If he his Neal the only reason he will not run to the next realm is if Emmaand Henry stand next to Rumple. Maybe Bealfire will say, “OK I will talk with you and every deal you make with Emma will be over. You stay away from them.”
I want to see Bealfire coming to Storybrook. Seeing his face, when his Father hugging Belle. Emma to him: “She is his girlfriend. Don’t look. I do not know more.”
Henry: “Mum, she is the Beauty of the Beast. She was the caretaker in his dark castle.”
Neal: “The caretaker. Normally he killed them after a few weeks and she is not even mute. She is half his age!”
Emma: “Half his age. I don’t think so. I have heard he is more then 300 years old.”
Neal: “My Dad is 300?”
Emma: “Neal you know what I don’t think that you have the guts to say to her STEPMOTHER.”
Neal: “You really want to play. OK. What will I get?”
Emma: “Pumpkin pie at Granny’s.”
Neal: “We have deal.”
Neal is going out of the car, smiling and saying to Belle: “It is a pleasure to meet you, my beautiful Stepmother. I am Neal Cassady.”
Heros don't get their Happy Ending!
Op here: I really like the idea of Rumple never really getting Bea back. Bea may be physically near him but totally out of reach emotionally. Although I don’t want Bea to be disrespectful to his father (why do I have a stinking feeling that he may not even be his real father?) I just hope that Bea is someone who truly love justice.
